Overview

Record UAT steps with screenshots, annotate them, add notes and download a PDF as proof of testing.

Testimony is a free step recorder for manual testing and documentation. Click through your app and every step is captured as an annotated screenshot. Export it as test evidence, bug reproduction steps or a how-to guide in PDF, HTML, Markdown or CSV. Use it for any kind of testing - Functional, regression, smoke and exploratory testing - User acceptance testing (UAT) and sign-off evidence - Bug reports with exact steps to reproduce - Release checks, integration testing and audit evidence - Also works as a step-by-step guide maker for SOPs, onboarding and support articles Two modes in one tool - Run a test: mark steps Pass or Fail, record expected vs actual, set an overall result (Pass, Fail or Blocked), and add ticket, environment and tester. - Create a guide: add tips and warnings, section headings and zoomed screenshots. Switch any time; nothing is lost. How it works - Press Start recording and use your app as normal. Every click, typed field and dropdown choice on a site you allowed becomes a step with a screenshot. Screenshots are taken just after the action, so success messages and new rows are in the shot, and a final screenshot can be added when you stop. - Follows new tabs and windows opened from the page you are testing, and labels each step with its tab. - Warns you when the tab you are on is not being recorded, so there are no silent gaps. - Capture a screenshot of any tab at any time with Alt+Shift+S, or paste or drop images into the editor. Edit, annotate and export - Built-in editor: rename steps, add notes, reorder or delete steps. - Annotate with boxes, arrows, circles, highlights, text labels and redaction to hide sensitive data. - Export to PDF, a single self-contained HTML page, Markdown with an images folder (ZIP), or CSV for a spreadsheet or test management import. - Ready to attach to a ticket in Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail or Xray, or to drop into Confluence or a wiki. - Starting a new session saves the old one to History, which keeps your last 5 sessions to restore or export. Privacy first: the extension asks for access one site at a time, only when you start recording there. Everything stays on your computer. No account, no servers, no tracking. Free and open source.
