Overview

Translation memory for volunteer translators: save term pairs, scan pages and check draft consistency.

Term Keeper is a translation memory for volunteer translators and fansub/localization communities. Save source/target term pairs while you browse (character names, places, recurring catchphrases), keep them organized per project (one project per series, book, or client), and check your draft translations for terminology consistency. Key features: - Select a source term on any page, right-click "Term Keeper: save as source term", and a small on-page dialog lets you set the target (type it or use another selection), add a note, and pick or create a project - Conflict handling on save: if a source term already has a different translation in the project, choose to keep, replace, or save as a variant - A side panel glossary assistant: "Scan page" finds every known source term of the active project in the current tab's visible text and lists it with its saved target and a one-click Copy button - "Check my draft": paste your draft and Term Keeper flags every source term on the page whose saved target does not appear in the draft, plus terms with conflicting variants - A glossary manager with search, per-project filtering, inline edit and delete, variant merging, and CSV import/export (UTF-8 with BOM, so Excel opens Arabic and CJK text correctly) - Matching built for real translation work: Unicode-aware word boundaries for Latin, Arabic, Cyrillic, and similar scripts, and substring matching for scripts written without spaces (Han, Kana, Hangul, Thai, and others), all NFC-normalized and case-insensitive What it does not do: Term Keeper has no analytics, no cloud sync, and no accounts. Every term pair lives in the browser's local extension storage on your machine; CSV export is how you back up or share a glossary with your team. The only network request the extension ever makes is license validation (see Pricing below). Canvas-based editors like Google Docs cannot be scanned in place; use the draft checker box instead. Pricing: Term Keeper is free to install and requires a $5 one-time license purchased through Lemon Squeezy. Enter your license key once in the side panel to activate. The key is re-checked periodically with a 7-day offline grace period, so working offline or a temporary outage never locks you out. Your saved glossary always remains yours: even without a license, CSV export keeps working.
