When you click it, Teract extracts the full post — author, text content (up to 2,000 characters), and any attached images or videos. If you're replying to a comment rather than the original post, Teract traverses up the comment thread, collecting up to 5 parent comments to understand the full conversation context. It formats this as an indented thread hierarchy so the AI knows exactly who said what and who you're responding to. Generated text is inserted directly into the comment editor using the same rich-text commands the platform uses internally. Teract also includes a separate message assistant for LinkedIn messaging. It extracts the full conversation history from the message thread — every message with sender, timestamp, and content — so the AI has full context when suggesting replies. It supports 7 message types: appreciate, inform, request, accept, decline, clarify, and conclude. The message assistant adapts to dark and light themes automatically. For post creation, Teract adds a button to the post composition toolbar. Clicking it opens the side panel coach, where you can create posts from articles, videos, or your own ideas using the full creation workflow. When replying to a tweet, it extracts the tweet text, author, and any attached media, then traverses previous tweets in the thread by walking through sibling elements to build full thread context (up to 5 parent tweets). It distinguishes between replying to a tweet (modal with context) and composing a new tweet (opens the side panel for post creation). The extension detects dark mode by reading the page background color and adjusts its interface accordingly. Comment insertion handles the platform's React-based editor by dispatching synthetic input events after text insertion to keep the UI in sync. It extracts the full post including title, body content, author, and subreddit name from the URL. When replying to a comment, it traverses the nested comment tree by walking up through parent comment elements, collecting up to 5 levels of parent comments with their authors and content. Reddit uses Web Components with Shadow DOM, so the extension handles this architecture specifically. For new post submissions, it detects the creation context by checking for title input fields and URL patterns, then opens the side panel instead. The extension also extracts engagement data — score, comment count, and timestamps — for the daily intelligence briefing. 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 Teract adds a button to the action row next to the reply icon. It extracts post content from article elements, including author handles and text. For thread context, it identifies all articles in the current thread view and collects those appearing before the target post, building context from the sequential conversation (up to 5 parent posts). The extension waits for the platform's dynamic content rendering before detecting insertion points, ensuring reliable operation even as the page loads asynchronously. 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘂𝗺 Teract operates in two contexts. When responding to an article, the button appears inline with the formatting toolbar (next to the Bold and Italic buttons). It extracts the article title, first 5 paragraphs, and author information, plus any existing responses in the thread for context. When creating a new post (detected by the URL pattern), a floating button appears that opens the side panel for full post creation. Medium uses Slate.js for its rich-text editor, so comment insertion uses clipboard event simulation — constructing a synthetic ClipboardEvent with a DataTransfer object — which is the most reliable method for this editor type. 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗦𝗸𝘆 Teract injects into the compose and reply dialogs, placing the button in the composer toolbar. It only appears inside dialog windows, not in the feed itself. When replying, it extracts the parent post content, author handle, and any media. For threads, it reads the full thread container and collects up to 5 parent posts with their content. The extension detects whether you're writing a new post (opens side panel) or replying to someone (opens the contextual modal). The interface uses the platform's native blue color scheme. 𝗛𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀 Teract matches the platform's minimal design by injecting a text link rather than an icon button, appearing next to the submit button. It extracts the original story title, URL, and story text. For comment threading, it uses a unique approach specific to this platform: it reads the indent level of each comment by measuring the width attribute of the indent spacer image, then walks backwards through the page to find parent comments — only including those with a lower indent level (actual ancestors in the tree). This faithfully reconstructs the comment hierarchy in a platform that uses table-based HTML layout. Generated text is inserted directly into the native textarea.
