AI governance for K-12 on managed Chromebooks. Control access to AI, enforce classroom rules by period, and prevent PII from being sent to AI. Tenet is an AI governance extension for K-12 districts using managed Chromebook fleets. It helps districts apply policy-driven controls to student AI usage, with classroom-specific rules that automatically change by period. Built for managed deployment Deploy and configure through Google Admin Console No student setup required Works with cached policies if the device is offline or the backend is temporarily unavailable What Tenet does 1) Control access to AI tools Allow or block AI platforms based on district policy and class context. 2) Period-aware classroom policies Policies cascade from district to teacher to class. Rules resolve automatically from the student schedule so each class can have different AI permissions without manual switching. 3) On-device privacy protection (DLP) Tenet can detect and redact personally identifiable information from supported inputs before it is sent to an AI service. Processing occurs locally on the device. 4) Embedded AI feature controls Tenet can disable embedded AI assistants inside otherwise approved tools when policy requires, without blocking the host application. 5) Optional safety detection District-configurable, on-device checks can flag jailbreak attempts and restricted content categories. Supported platforms Tenet applies controls on major AI chat platforms and education AI tools. The exact set of supported domains is defined in the extension’s host permissions and district configuration. Privacy Tenet does not store student conversation content. Tenet does not store student PII. Policy enforcement and scanning run locally on the device. Tenet stores district configuration and lightweight policy events locally for administrator visibility (for example: rule triggered, category, timestamp).
