A scratchpad in your toolbar. Dump it, copy it, toss it. Pages, colours, undo, timed expiry. Nothing leaves your browser.

TempNote is a scratchpad that lives in your Chrome toolbar. Click the icon or press Alt+Shift+N, drop in whatever you need for the next five minutes — an address, an order number, a reply you're drafting — copy it out, and throw it away. WHAT IT DOES • Pages. Several notes, one per page. Flip with ‹ › or Alt+← / Alt+→, or click the note's name to see every note with the time it was last edited, jump to one, or delete several at once. • Colours. Each note takes a soft tint: Sand, Mint, Sky, Lavender, Pink, Teal, Coral or plain paper. Tap the dot to change it. • Names. Double-click the name, or click the pen beside it, to rename a page. • Copy in one click. The copy button, or Ctrl+C (⌘C) with nothing selected, copies the whole note. The icon flips to a green check. • Delete without fuss. No "Are you sure?", just a four-second Undo. • Tidies itself, if you want. Set "Delete notes after" to an hour, a day, a week or 30 days and a note removes itself after its last edit. Off by default: notes are kept until you delete them. • Keyboard first. Ctrl+N (⌘N) new note, Alt+↓ note list, Ctrl+⌫ (⌘⌫) delete, Ctrl+Z (⌘Z) undo, Esc closes what's open. Change the global shortcut at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. • Right-click the toolbar icon for New Note, Copy Current Note, Settings and Clear All Notes. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no sync, no servers, no analytics, no ads. Notes live in Chrome's local extension storage on this computer and the add-on makes no network requests. The clipboard is only touched when you copy a note, or — if you turn on "New note pastes clipboard" in Settings (off by default) — at the moment you create a note. TempNote started life as a Chrome add-on that many people kept in their toolbar. This is it, back and rebuilt for today's Chrome (Manifest V3), with pages, colours, undo and expiry added.
