Tell 'em They're Dreaming

Overview
Shows you what Australian properties are really worth. Powered by The Castle.
Browsing property listings and wondering if anyone actually pays these prices? Tell 'em They're Dreaming is a free Chrome extension for Australian property hunters. Inspired by the 1997 Australian classic The Castle — where Darryl Kerrigan knew the value of a home better than any agent — this extension cuts through the fantasy pricing on realestate.com.au and domain.com.au. WHAT IT DOES ► Calculates your offer automatically Set a discount percentage (5%–50%) and the extension shows your offer price alongside every asking price — on search result cards and full listing pages. ► Calls out the marketing language Phrases like "renovator's delight," "cosy," "tightly held," "north-facing aspect" and "entertainer's dream" are annotated inline with what they actually mean. ► Reacts to every listing type No price listed? Contact Agent? Auction? Inspect only? The extension detects each scenario and responds with pointed commentary. ► Fully adjustable Slide the discount from a conservative 5% to an ambitious 50% depending on how the market is treating you. ► Works on both major Australian portals realestate.com.au and domain.com.au. WHAT IT DOESN'T DO ✗ Collect any data ✗ Track what you browse ✗ Send anything to any server ✗ Make you feel better about Sydney prices (that's beyond our scope) 100% private. Everything runs locally in your browser.
