Overview

Click to profile any site's tech stack β€” CMS, framework, analytics, hosting. See stack changes between scans. By Cloud Geeks.

πŸ” What's This Site Built With? Click the Tech Stack Detector icon on any website. It inspects that page β€” DOM elements, meta tags, link and script tags, and response signals β€” and shows a categorised profile of the technologies powering it, a technology health score, and what changed since you last looked. Detection runs only when you click; nothing is scanned in the background. WHAT IT DOES - Identifies technologies across 13 categories: CMS, JavaScript Framework, JavaScript Library, CSS Framework, Analytics, Hosting/CDN, Ecommerce, Chat/Support, Email, Fonts, Security, Monitoring, and Build Tool - Shows each detection with a confidence level, and flags outdated or legacy tech (e.g. old jQuery, Universal Analytics, Moment.js) - Computes a Technology Health Score (0–100, graded A–F) with a per-factor breakdown: HTTPS, modern framework, CMS currency, analytics, performance, security, and freshness - Spot stack changes between scans: when you re-scan a site you've seen before, it shows which technologies were added or removed since your last visit, and when - Find sites with a similar stack: an optional link that opens BuiltWith's public list of sites using the most distinctive technology detected (useful for competitor research and prospecting) - Keeps a local scan history per site so you can review past scans - Copy a result out as a Markdown lead card or as JSON HOW IT WORKS 1. Open any website 2. Click the Tech Stack Detector icon 3. The popup scans the current tab and shows the profile, score, and any changes since your last scan 4. Press Rescan to run it again WHO IT'S FOR Web developers, sales teams qualifying leads, agencies pitching prospects, security researchers triaging unfamiliar stacks, and anyone curious about the tooling behind a site. PRIVACY Detection happens locally in your browser and only when you click β€” there is no automatic or background scanning, and the extension requests no standing access to the sites you visit. The extension does not transmit URLs, page content, or detection results to any server. Your scan history is stored in chrome.storage.local on your device. The only outbound link is optional: "Find sites with a similar tech stack" opens BuiltWith in a new tab, pre-filtered by a single detected technology name (for example "wordpress"). Nothing is sent unless you click that link, and it carries a technology name, never your browsing history or the page's URL.
