Taskweather
Overview
Focus sounds that follow the site you work on. Reads only the active tab's site name, and only on this computer.
Taskweather plays focus sounds that change with the work you're doing. Open a code editor on GitHub and you get a steady coding soundscape. Switch to Gmail or Notion and it moves to an office mix. Open a long article or a PDF and it turns calmer for reading. Step away and it pauses. This extension is the link between your browser and the Taskweather player at taskweather.com/play. Without it you pick the mode yourself; with it the sound follows you automatically. What it does - Switches the sound mode (coding, office, reading, rest) based on the site in your active tab - Pauses when you lock your screen or step away, and resumes when you're back - Toolbar button shows the current mode and plays or pauses with one click - Per-site choices: switch automatically, keep the current sound, or pause on that site - "Not now" keeps the last sound for a while without switching - Play/pause shortcut (Alt+Shift+K by default, changeable) Privacy first - Reads only the site name of your active tab (for example github.com). The path, search terms and the rest of the address are discarded immediately. - Nothing is stored, no browsing history is kept, and nothing is sent to our servers or anyone else. The site name goes only to the Taskweather player tab open in your own browser. - Only two permissions: "tabs" and "idle". Its page script runs only on taskweather.com. - Never reads page contents, titles, what you type or where you click. Privacy policy: https://taskweather.com/privacy
