Overview

Dismisses cookie and GDPR consent banners automatically, locally, with no clicks and no data leaving the device.

TaskRoket: Cookie Guard — cookie and GDPR banners close themselves, on every site, without a single click. WHAT IT DOES Cookie Guard watches the page for consent banners — the "we value your privacy" walls, CMP dialogs, cookie notices and full-screen GDPR overlays that block what you came to read. When one appears, the extension reads its buttons, picks the option that matches your preference and clicks it for you. By default that is the strictest option available: "Reject all", "Only necessary" or "Decline". You can switch to "Accept all" in the settings if you prefer sites to work with all cookies. HOW IT WORKS • Reads the banner text and buttons locally, in the page, and matches them against consent wording in about 40 languages — not just English. "Rifiuta e abbonati", "Alle ablehnen", "Niet accepteren", "Rechazar todo" are all recognised. • Prefers the least invasive button: an "only necessary" or "reject" choice always wins over "accept". Buttons that hide behind a "Manage settings" panel are used only when the banner has nothing else. • Never clicks "Subscribe", "Sign in", "Continue reading" or any paywall button, even when it sits inside the consent wall. • Ignores buttons the page keeps invisible, so it never clicks something a visitor could not click. • Handles consent screens that live in a full-screen iframe, and unlocks page scrolling when a site freezes the page behind its wall. • Checks that the banner is really gone. If the site puts it back, Cookie Guard retries once and then tells you honestly that the banner did not close instead of pretending it did. WHAT YOU CONTROL • Auto-scan on or off. When off, a small pill in the corner scans the page only when you press it (or Ctrl+Shift+1). • Preference: reject everything (default), accept everything, or keep only the necessary cookies. • Exceptions: leave chosen sites untouched. Wildcards ( *.example.com ), ports and paths are supported. • A counter of banners closed, pages cleaned and sites covered — stored on your device only. PRIVACY BY DESIGN Everything happens locally. Cookie Guard does not send page content, banner text, URLs or statistics anywhere, has no server, no account and no analytics. Settings, a small counter and up to 50 hostnames for the exception list are kept in Chrome local storage and never leave the browser. The extension asks for one permission — storage — plus access to pages, which it needs to find banners on any site you visit. BUILT FOR EVERYDAY BROWSING Works on news sites, shops, blogs and corporate portals, in 55 interface languages including right-to-left layouts, and on screens from small laptops to 4K. The in-page pill is a normal button with keyboard focus and a screen-reader label, and the toast messages are announced politely. If a site still shows its banner, open the settings, add the site to exceptions and use the pill once — the page is then left exactly as the site intended.
