Task Recorder & Scheduler
Overview
Record a repetitive browser task once, then replay it automatically on a schedule (daily, hourly, or custom).
Task Recorder & Scheduler lets you record a repetitive browser task once and have it run automatically from then on — no scripting, no coding, no third-party service. HOW IT WORKS 1. Click "Start Recording" and do the task normally — click buttons, fill in fields, choose from dropdowns, submit forms, navigate between pages. 2. Click "Stop Recording", name the task, and choose how often it should repeat: daily at a set time, every hour, every N minutes, once at a specific date and time, or manual (run on demand only). 3. That's it. The extension opens a background tab and replays your steps on schedule — you don't need to keep the popup open, and you don't even need to keep the original tab open. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything stays on your device. Recordings are stored locally in Chrome's storage — nothing is sent to any server, and there's no account or sign-in required. Passwords typed during a recording are encrypted before they're stored, so a saved task can log in on schedule without a plaintext copy sitting in your browser. SEE WHAT HAPPENED Every run keeps a step-by-step log. If a task ever fails partway through — a site's layout changed, an element didn't load — open the log and see exactly which step failed and why, instead of just "it broke." GOOD FOR • Reposting a daily status update • Checking a dashboard or report every morning • Submitting a recurring form • Any multi-click task you find yourself repeating on the same site THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE INSTALLING • This extension needs broad site access because it has to work on whatever page you choose to automate — it doesn't act on a page unless you've recorded a task there. • Steps are matched to page elements by ID/class/position, so a task can break if a site redesigns its layout — re-record if that happens. • It won't solve CAPTCHAs or handle two-factor prompts; it replays using your existing logged-in browser session. • Chrome throttles background alarms to roughly once-a-minute precision, so this is built for daily/hourly/interval schedules, not sub-minute timing.
