Your new tab, beautifully alive. Tarn gives every new tab a living wallpaper, a clock, a search box and the widgets you actually use. Nothing else. No account, no ads, no tracking. LIVING WALLPAPERS • Original scenes drawn live on your graphics chip: still water, clouds, northern lights, a night sky, digital rain and more. Or your own photos. • Light mode gets a light wallpaper, dark mode a dark one, until you pick your own. • Easy on your computer: nothing runs in hidden tabs, it slows down when you're away, and it holds a still picture if you prefer reduced motion or your computer can't keep up. PUT ANYTHING ON IT • Bookmarks (starting with your bookmarks bar), notes, tasks, a calendar, a timer and weather, on a tidy grid you arrange and resize yourself. • Code your own widgets: a few lines of shader code with a live preview and examples, or copy the instructions into any AI chat and let it write one for you. Shadertoy code works as is. MAKE IT YOURS • Clock faces from Classic to Flip, Gothic, LCD, Neon and Analog, or no clock at all. • A search box like your browser's own: your search engine, your bookmarks as you type, plus voice, Google Lens and AI Mode. • Settings open in the side panel right beside your tab, and every change shows at once. Light or dark follows your system. • Ten languages, keyboard shortcuts, automatic backups before every update, and export and import. GOOD TO KNOW • Settings sync through your browser's own account, if you use one. • One click on the toolbar button turns Tarn off and gives you your browser's page back. If another new-tab extension is in the way, Tarn can switch it off for you. • Chrome adds its own bar at the bottom of extension new tabs. To hide it, click Customize Chrome in that bar and turn off the footer at the bottom of the panel. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Tarn has no server, no account and no tracking. It goes online only when you use something that needs it: searches go to your browser's own search engine when you press Enter; voice, Google Lens and AI Mode go to Google only when you press them; and a Weather widget asks Open-Meteo for its place's forecast, about every 30 minutes.
