Keeps context on the people you look up, in the Tapestry app on your computer. Moves through LinkedIn only when you ask.

Tapestry Capture is the browser companion to Tapestry, a relationship app that keeps your professional network on your own computer. It requires the Tapestry desktop app, and captures nothing until the app has connected. When you open a profile or a people list, Tapestry Capture saves what that page shows: names, headlines, photos, roles, and the mutual connections listed there. When you open a conversation, it saves the messages LinkedIn has loaded there and the people in it, so Tapestry knows when you last talked. It hands each capture to the Tapestry app on the same computer, where you can see who you know, how you know them, and where they are. What it does • Works on LinkedIn profile, people-list and conversation pages, and reads only the ones you open yourself. It never opens a page other than one person's mutual-connections list, loads older messages, reads your inbox, or sends requests for you. It scrolls only the profile you have open, and only when you click Fill in. It pages a mutual-connections list only after you click Save all, in the tab you're looking at. If you choose On click under Save mutuals in its Settings, it does so after you click Save profile and mutuals on a profile. If you choose Automatically, it does so for the 1st- and 2nd-degree profiles you open yourself, at most 30 pages a day and never while you're away. Either way, it uses a background tab, tucked into a collapsed Tapestry tab group, that it opens and closes for that list alone. • Seals each conversation's messages in Chrome so only the Tapestry app on your computer can open them. Tapestry asks before it saves any messages, and you can turn message saving off in the app at any time. • Shows a short note on the page when it has captured it, and a popup with what is waiting and what Tapestry has confirmed. • Keeps captures in Chrome until Tapestry confirms it has saved them, so nothing is lost while the app is closed. Anything still unsent after 30 days is deleted. • Lets you pause capture at any time from the popup. In its Settings you can also stop it reading profiles or mutual-connection lists as you browse, and save a page with one click when you want it. What it doesn't do • Captures go only to the Tapestry app on your computer, never to Tapestry's servers or to anyone else. • It sends diagnostics to help us keep it working: which steps ran, their timings and outcomes, error types and where in its code they happened, which parts of a page it could read (never what they say), its version and how it was installed, your browser and operating system and their versions, your processor type, core count and memory size, your time zone and language, your IP address and the approximate location looked up from it, and a random ID. They never include names, page text, messages or page addresses. Turn them off in its popup, under Settings. • No ads, no selling of data, no tracking of other sites. Requirements • The Tapestry desktop app for macOS (private beta), installed and opened on the same computer.
