tap-to-view — blur it all, tap to reveal
Overview
Blurs every image and video on every page. Tap to reveal, tap again to hide. A privacy screen for cafés, offices, and trains.
Open your laptop in a café and every image on your screen is public to whoever is sitting next to you. tap-to-view fixes that. Every image and video is blurred the moment a page loads. Tap one to reveal it, tap again to hide it. Nothing is exposed unless you choose to expose it. WHAT IT DOES • Blurs images and videos on every site, automatically • Tap to reveal, tap again to re-hide • Blur is applied before the page paints — no flash of the original image • Icons, logos and avatars under 64px stay sharp, so pages remain usable • One switch to turn it off for a site you trust BUILT TO FAIL SAFE If anything goes wrong — a slow script, a storage error — the result is that images stay blurred. It never fails in the direction of exposing something. PRIVACY No servers. No analytics. No network requests. No tracking of any kind. The only thing stored is the list of sites where you turned blurring off, and it stays in your own browser. KNOWN LIMITS IN THIS VERSION • Images set through CSS background-image are not blurred yet • Links behind an image are not clickable while blurring is active on that site • Video reveals one way, so the player controls remain usable
