Overview
Wreck any web page, mend it with gold, let it grow wild, doodle on it, or let a little cat do it all. Nothing leaves your browser.
Tantrum turns the web page in front of you into a toy: wreck it, mend it back with gold, let it grow wild, doodle all over it, or sit back and let a little black cat do it for you, then put everything back with one key. How it works: click the Tantrum button on any website and pick Rage, Mend, Wild, Doodle or Chaos Mode. A small toolbar appears. Choose a tool and click (or drag across) the page. Before you click, a ring shows where the hit will land and outlines the thing it will hit; the hit lands right there. Things you hit fly off and pile up, crack, catch fire, break like glass, or lose their letters; page-sized sections just take the dent. Hold the button down to charge a bigger shove or quake. Mend sends things home, and cracks come back as gold seams. Wild grows morning glories, ivy, grass and flowers where you click, with snails and butterflies that follow your pointer. In Chaos Mode a small black cat walks to a spot on the page, winds up and uses a tool there, then picks another tool from any mode and does it again; click the page, press a key or scroll and it pauses so you can take over. Ctrl+Z undoes one step at a time, right-click undoes the thing under the pointer, and Esc puts back everything Tantrum changed. Features - Rage: Shove and Quake (hold to charge), Hammer (five hits and it breaks loose), Fire that starts where you light it and spreads, Shatter, and Smash, which knocks the letters out of a word. Quick hits build a combo. - Mend: a gold brush that sheds gold dust (press [ or ] to change its size), a clean brush that leaves no trace, Rewind, which puts the whole page back in one press, and Shine, which makes every gold seam glint. - Wild: climbing morning glories, ivy, grass, moss, flowers, mushrooms, snails that leave a silver trail, butterflies, and Seasons: blossom, falling leaves or snow. - Doodle: paint splats, masking tape, a marker, bubble wrap you can pop, and frost. - Chaos Mode: a little black cat plays the page with every tool from every mode, in any order. Each thing it does is one undo step, it never aims under the toolbar, and it pauses when you click, scroll or press a key. Press T or the Chaos Mode button to start or pause it. Its moves are counted on their own and never earn your badges. - Undo with Ctrl+Z or the undo button; number keys pick tools and Q, W, E, R and T pick modes. - Keep a site: switch it on in the popup and your wreckage, gardens and doodles are still there when you come back. - Save a picture, a before-and-after picture, or a looping timelapse GIF. - Drag the toolbar anywhere or shrink it; it turns dark on dark pages. - Quick starts in the popup (Monday, Zen, Spring), and badges for the things you have done. - Play with the keyboard: from the Tantrum toolbar press A to aim, the arrow keys to move, Enter to use a tool. - Sounds made in your browser, with an off switch. Honours your reduced-motion setting (Chaos Mode moves slower and waits longer between moves). Privacy: Tantrum does not collect, send or sell anything. It makes no network requests. Changes happen only in your browser, on the tab where you opened it, and on sites you chose to keep when you come back to them. If you switch Keep on for a site, the changes for that site are stored on your computer so they come back. Switching Keep off removes everything saved for that site; "Forget saved changes on this page" removes one page; Esc on a kept page also clears what was saved for it. When Tantrum opens it takes a picture of the tab and holds it in memory for the before-and-after picture; nothing is saved unless you press a picture or timelapse button. Play counts for the badges (how many times each tool was used, and a scrambled count of sites) are stored on your computer only. Permissions in plain English - activeTab: lets Tantrum work on the tab you open it on, and only after you click its button or press its shortcut (Alt+Shift+T). - scripting: puts Tantrum's toolbar and effects into that page. - storage: remembers your settings, your badges, and your saved changes for sites you chose to keep. - Access to a site (asked only when you switch Keep on for that site): lets your saved changes come back when you revisit it. Support and changes: report a problem or ask a question at dhseadev.online. Version 0.2.0 has Rage, Mend, Wild, Doodle and the new Chaos Mode, with undo, Keep, pictures and timelapses, keyboard play, badges and sound. Tantrum does not run on Chrome's own pages or the Chrome Web Store, which Chrome does not allow extensions to change.
