Overview
Records Google Meet audio, saves it to Google Drive and adds a transcript.
Tally records the audio of a Google Meet call and saves it to your own Google Drive, with a transcript in the same folder. How it works • Join a Meet call, click Tally and press record, or press Alt+Shift+R. • Tally records the call audio and your microphone. You keep hearing the call as normal. • Pause and resume at any time. Paused time is left out of the file. • When you stop, the recording uploads to a "Meet Recordings" folder in your Google Drive, then a transcript is saved next to it as a text file or a Google Doc. Made for real calls • A small bar at the top of the call shows the timer, with pause and stop buttons. • If you mute yourself in Meet, your microphone is left out of the recording too. • Tally can stop and save automatically when you leave the call. • Tally can post a message in the meeting chat to let everyone know you're recording. • Nothing is lost: audio is saved on your computer every 5 seconds while recording. If Chrome closes, Tally offers to save what was recorded. • If the connection drops during upload, Tally continues from where it stopped once you're back online. Private by design • Recordings go only to your own Google Drive. Tally asks for the narrowest Drive permission, so it can see only the files it creates. • Transcripts are made with your own OpenAI API key, which stays on your computer. • Tally has no servers of its own and no analytics. Please follow the law where you are and tell people before you record them. Tally's chat message makes that easy. Transcripts need an OpenAI API key (pay as you go, about $0.18 per hour of audio at the time of writing).
