Tagtwin
Overview
Catch surveillance pricing: see when a store shows you a higher price than a stranger gets, and why. Works across shopping sites.
Is a store charging you more because of who you are? Some stores set prices based on what they know about you: whether you're logged in, what you've browsed, what device you're on, how you arrived at the page. It's called personalized or surveillance pricing, and you can't see it, because you only ever see your own price. Tagtwin shows you the price a stranger gets. When you open a product page on a shopping site, it quietly loads the same page a few more times as "strangers": clean copies with no cookies, no login and no history, one looking like a computer, one like a phone, and one arriving from a Google search. If you're shown meaningfully more than a stranger, Tagtwin warns you right on the page, tells you what likely caused it, and how to avoid it. • Works on product pages across shopping sites, with dedicated readers for Amazon, Walmart, Target and Best Buy. • The strangers never touch your account, your cookies or your cart. They never click, add to cart, log in or buy. • Warns only when the difference is real: more than 5% and more than $5. When in doubt, it stays quiet. • Share a catch: turn a warning into an image with the store and both prices (never the product or anything about you) to warn friends. • Each product is checked at most once every 6 hours. • Honest about what it could check: it tells you how many of the strangers it compared, and when a store blocked one. Not a price tracker: history tools show how a price changed over time. Tagtwin compares what you're shown with what someone else is shown right now, which is the only way to see price discrimination aimed at you. YOUR DATA, YOUR CHOICE Tagtwin does nothing until you choose how much to share: • Full sharing: the prices you and the strangers saw, whether you appeared logged in, a rough region and device type, and a random ID for this install so you can wipe everything. • Local only: just the price you were shown, with rough region and device type, anonymously. Tagtwin never collects your name, email, address, payment details or passwords, nothing from non-shopping websites, and nothing from sensitive stores such as pharmacies, health or adult sites. It never sells your data or uses it for ads. One button in Settings permanently deletes everything Tagtwin has stored about you, on your computer and on our server, immediately. WHY SHARE? The more prices Tagtwin can compare, the better it can explain what raises prices, and the harder it becomes for stores to charge people more just for being who they are. Formerly PriceWatch.
