Overview

Find elements by text or CSS selector, catch transient UI like skip buttons with Watch mode, and copy selector, XPath or HTML.

Tag Research is a side-panel developer tool that finds elements on a web page by the text you can see, and lets you copy their CSS selector, XPath and HTML in one click. Elements that vanish within seconds — like a video player's "Skip Intro" button — are no problem: Watch mode captures them the instant they appear. No more chasing elements through DevTools and losing them. ■ Features • Text search — find elements by visible text (case-sensitive and regex options) • CSS selector search — search by class names, data attributes or any selector • Watch mode — watch the page for 5–60 seconds and capture elements the moment they appear • Unique selector generation — id / data-* / aria-label / class / structural path, in that order, to produce a CSS selector and XPath that point to exactly that element • HTML / Tree view — toggle between the surrounding HTML and a compact tag#id.class tree • Locate — scroll to the element on the page and outline it for 5 seconds • One-click copy — selector, XPath, or the HTML / Tree currently shown • Searches inside iframes — embedded players and widgets included ■ Great for • Finding selectors for automation and E2E tests (Playwright, Selenium, …) • Discovering class names for user scripts and ad-block filters • Answering "how do I inspect a button that only shows for a second?" ■ How to use 1. Click the Tag Research icon in the toolbar to open the side panel 2. Type a keyword (e.g. "Skip") and press Search 3. For elements that appear later, press Watch first, then perform the action on the page 4. Copy the selector / XPath / HTML from the result card, or press Locate to see where it is
