Tag Kit for Steam
Overview
Tags Steam games: AI Generated Content Disclosure, Anti-Cheat (kernel level first), 3rd-party DRM, account and EULA, and PvP.
Tag Kit for Steam tags items on the Steam store with what Steam's own store data says about them: AI Generated Content Disclosure, Kernel Level Anti-Cheat and Anti-Cheat Software, 3rd-party DRM, 3rd-Party Account, 3rd-party EULA and PvP. It only reads what Steam's store data and developers report there. It sends no reports, collects nothing and has no server of its own. What it does: - Adds a short chip for each tag (AI, KLAC, Anti-Cheat, DRM, Account, EULA, PvP) to capsules and rows in search, wishlist, home, tag and category hubs, sale pages, developer pages and search suggestions. - Hovering or tabbing to a chip opens a card that lists every tag of the game in Steam's words. - On a game's page, lists its tags in a "Tag Kit tags for this product" section below Steam's user-defined tags, and shows a banner with each declared tag in Steam's words. The banner quotes the developer's AI report word for word. - Gives each tag its own settings: a switch, a badge, a banner entry and a list filter (Show, Dim or Hide). The PvP tag starts switched off. - Lets you ignore a game for one tag or for all tags, with a per-game allow-list. - Lets you pick a badge color for each tag (experimental). The extension does not check contrast for colors you choose. - Comes in English and Spanish. What each tag means, in Steam's words: - AI Generated Content Disclosure: the developer reported generative AI use. The chip reads "AI". - Kernel Level Anti-Cheat: the game's anti-cheat runs at the kernel level. - Anti-Cheat Software: the game uses anti-cheat software. - 3rd-party DRM: the game uses DRM from a third party. - 3rd-Party Account: the game needs an account with a third party. - 3rd-party EULA: the game needs agreement to a third party's EULA. - PvP: the game has player-versus-player play. The AI tag is self-reported. It does not say how much AI a game uses, and a game without a chip is not guaranteed to be free of AI, because developers may not have reported anything, and Steam may not have the information for every item.
