Overview

Bookmark pages with tags and search by tags or keywords

Tag Bookmark Manager - Folders + Tags, No Cloud Required Chrome's folder system is great for organizing, but folders force you to pick one place for each bookmark. Tag Bookmark Manager adds tagging on top of Chrome's native bookmarks — so you get folders for structure AND tags for cross-cutting search. No cloud service, no account, no data leaves your browser. DESIGN PHILOSOPHY: 1. No cloud, no account — everything is stored in Chrome's built-in bookmark system. Tags sync automatically with Chrome Sync. Nothing is sent to external servers, ever. 2. Folders + tags, naturally combined — tags are stored as [tag] in the bookmark title (e.g., "My Page [react] [tutorial]"). This means your tags survive Chrome Sync, export/import, and any bookmark tool that reads titles. You keep your folder hierarchy AND gain the power of tagging. 3. Powerful search — find any bookmark instantly by title, URL, or #tag. Filter by multiple tags, folders, or both. Search from the popup with a keyboard shortcut, or use the full manage page with a tag sidebar. KEY FEATURES: + Tag Your Bookmarks Add multiple tags to any bookmark from the popup or the manage page. Tag autocomplete suggests tags based on usage frequency and co-occurrence with your existing tags. + Instant Search Press Cmd+Shift+P (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+P (Windows/Linux) to open search. Type to filter by title or URL, use #tagname to filter by tag. Arrow keys to navigate, Enter to open. + Two-Column Manage Page All Bookmarks tab with a tag/folder sidebar on the left and a flat bookmark list on the right. Click tags or folders in the sidebar to filter. Resizable panels. + Folder Tree Management Dedicated Folders tab with a full folder tree. Create, rename, delete, and archive folders. Drag and drop to reorder folders and move bookmarks between them. + Smart Archive Move bookmarks or entire folders to Archive. Archived items are hidden from everyday search. Toggle "Include archived" to bring them back. + Find Duplicates Detect duplicate bookmarks with smart URL normalization (strips tracking params, www, trailing slashes). Choose which copy to keep and clean up the rest. + Inline Editing Edit title, URL, tags, and folder for any bookmark directly in the manage page. Searchable folder selector ranked by recency. + Bulk Actions Select multiple bookmarks with checkboxes. Archive or delete in bulk. HOW IT WORKS: 1. Click the extension icon on any page 2. Add tags (press Enter or comma to add each tag) 3. Choose a folder and save 4. Search anytime with the keyboard shortcut or the Search tab 5. Use the Manage tab for full bookmark management Tags are saved in the bookmark title like: "Page Title [tag1] [tag2]" This is intentional — it keeps everything inside Chrome's native bookmark system. PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED: - Bookmarks: Required to read, create, and manage your bookmarks - Active Tab: Required to get the current page's URL and title when bookmarking - Favicon: Required to display website icons next to bookmarks This extension does NOT collect any personal data. All data stays in your browser. Perfect for researchers, developers, students, and anyone who wants better bookmark organization without giving up privacy.
