Tadhkirah — a reminder that matters. Prayer times you can trust, the azaan when it is time, and an ayah of the Quran on every new tab. The essentials work offline, there is no account, and nothing is tracked. PRAYER TIMES • Worked out on your device, so they stay right with no connection • Choose the calculation method your local authorities use — eleven are built in, and the likely one is suggested during setup • Standard or Hanafi Asr, high-latitude rules, and per-prayer adjustments in minutes to match your masjid • A fixed Friday time in place of the calculated Dhuhr • Sunrise, Ishraq, Zawal, Islamic midnight and the last third of the night • A warning during the times when prayer is disliked • Countdown to the next prayer on the toolbar icon • A year of times kept on your device, exportable as CSV AZAAN AND REMINDERS • Full azaan, a short tone, a silent notification, or nothing — set for all five prayers at once or one at a time • Three recordings included, or add your own audio file • A silent heads-up 5 to 30 minutes before each prayer • Stop the azaan from the notification, from the page you are reading, or from the popup — one press stops all of it • Missed-prayer (qadha) counters THE QURAN • An ayah of the day on every new tab — the same one all day, a new one tomorrow • Eight reciters, with each word highlighted as it is recited • Hover a word for its transliteration and meaning, for readers still learning the script • Nine translations and three works of tafsir, across several languages • Bookmarks, continue reading, and a mood picker for when you are unsure where to begin • Share any ayah as a clean image • A side panel for reading a whole surah beside whatever you are doing • Surah Al-Kahf reminder on Fridays THE NEW TAB • A search box that uses the engine you pick in settings, plus your own site shortcuts • Backgrounds that follow the hour, or a geometric pattern, calligraphy, plain, or your own photo • Qibla direction, with the bearing and distance to Makkah • Nearby masjids, with directions • The live view of Masjid al-Haram • Headlines, if you want them MADE TO BE READ • Light, sepia and dark themes • Five interface languages, two of which mirror the whole layout right to left, not just the words • Four Quran scripts, and an Arabic text size you set yourself • Keyboard shortcuts throughout; press ? on the new tab for the list YOUR PRIVACY Tadhkirah has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. Your location stays in your browser and is never sent to us — we have no server to send it to. Prayer times and the Qibla are calculated on your device from that location. The optional extras are the only reason the extension goes online, and each reaches only its own source, listed under Credits below: recitation audio and tafsir, the nearby-masjid list, a city lookup when you type a place name into search, headlines while you leave them on, and background photography. Turn those features off and the extension makes no network requests at all. ABOUT THE PERMISSIONS Chrome will warn that Tadhkirah can "read and change all your data on all websites". That is used for three things, all of them visible to you: 1. The once-a-day ayah card, shown over the first website you open each day — you choose during setup whether you want it, and can turn it off any time. 2. The azaan toast, shown in the corner of the page you are on while the azaan plays, so you can stop it without hunting for the tab. 3. The toolbar icon sliding the timetable in as a panel over your page, instead of a cramped popup. Tadhkirah never reads page content, never injects anything you have not asked for, and sends nothing anywhere. CREDITS Quran text and translation from alquran.cloud.
