TabWay helps you find, organize, and stash your tabs in a side panel — and ask AI about them. TabWay does not replace the native tab strip. It lives in the Side Panel and works alongside it. FIND • All tabs of the current window, in their native order • Search by title, URL, or domain • Filter tabs unused for 1/3/7/30 days (default 7) or a custom period ORGANIZE • Select tabs and create native tab groups; group by domain in one click • Groups created in TabWay are real tab groups — rename, color, and collapse them any way you like STASH & READ LATER • One-click Stash: save all tabs of the window to a list and close them to free memory. Restore single items or the whole batch; search, delete, and undo are fully supported. A tab is only closed after its save succeeds. • Read later: move a tab out of the browser into a to-do checklist. Opening an item does not mark it done — completing is a separate checkbox action. • Your saved data syncs across devices through your own browser account. No signup needed. WORKSPACES • Switch workspaces within the same window from the dock. Unopened tabs rest on a lightweight placeholder page and reload automatically when you return to them. ASK MY TAB (optional, bring your own key) • Ask questions about tabs you explicitly select as sources (up to 3). Page text is read once, on demand, only for pages you choose — never in the background. Forms and editable fields are excluded. • Bring your own API key from a supported AI provider (10+ popular cloud services, plus any custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint). Requests go directly from your browser to the provider you select. TabWay has no servers and never sees your conversations. • Or chat directly with no sources — then no page content, titles, or URLs are sent at all. • No API key handy? Hand the page straight to the web app of an AI service you enable — one click passes the page's title and URL into the chat. • API keys are stored locally in encrypted form. They never enter sync, exports, or logs. PRIVACY • No developer servers, no analytics, no tracking, no remote code • No browsing-history access • Regular tab management never reads page content • Incognito windows are not supported • Delete, export, or import your data anytime in Settings • Site access is optional and granted per site through your browser's own prompts — revoke it anytime in extension settings PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED • sidePanel: the interface lives in the side panel • tabs: read titles/URLs of open tabs and act on them (activate, pin, mute, discard, move, close, group) when you ask • tabGroups: create and manage native tab groups • storage: save your read-later list, workspaces, and settings; sync via your account • scripting + optional site access: inject a one-time page reader ONLY when you add or refresh a tab as an Ask source, hand a prompt to an AI web app you enabled, or connect a provider's API endpoint. No static content scripts, no background collection.
