Overview

A cute side-panel tab manager: see all tabs & groups at a glance, search, snooze, and let idle tabs sleep. With a friendly octopus.

Too many tabs? Let Tabumaru round them up! Tabumaru opens a cute side panel that shows every tab and tab group you have open — neatly, at a glance. ■ See everything ・Tab groups first, in their own colors, then the rest of your tabs ・Pinned tabs are shown at the top with a 📌 so you never lose them ・Works across all your windows ■ Find it fast ・Search by tab title, URL, or tab group name ・Press Enter to jump straight to the first match ・Open a new tab with + next to the search box ・The panel opens scrolled to the tab you're on ■ Tidy up ・Drag & drop to reorder tabs and whole tab groups — it changes the real tab order in Chrome ・Drop a tab onto a group (or any empty space inside it) to add it, or onto "Other tabs" to take it out ・Rename a tab group or change its color right in the panel with ✏️ ・Right-click a tab to pin, duplicate, copy its URL, snooze it, put it in a new group or move it to a new window ・Close a tab with ×, or close a whole group with two clicks ■ Save memory with auto-sleep ・Tabs you haven't used for a while go to sleep to free up memory — choose 15 minutes to 2 hours ・The tab you're on, pinned tabs and tabs playing audio never go to sleep ・"Sleep now" puts all the other tabs to sleep in one tap ・See how many tabs are sleeping and roughly how much memory you saved ・Off by default — turn it on in ⚙️ Settings ■ Let forgotten tabs fade away ・Turn on "Tab lifespan" in ⚙️ Settings: tabs you haven't visited get paler and paler — you choose how long, from 1 minute to 14 days ・When a tab's time is up, the octopus looks sad and lets you know. Open the list from 🫥 to Keep 🌱 or Close × each tab, or close them all with two clicks ・Prefer hands-off? Switch to "Close the tab automatically". Closed tabs are saved in a list (🍂) so you can reopen them any time ・The tab you're on, pinned tabs and tabs playing audio never fade or close ・Off by default — turn it on in ⚙️ Settings ■ Snooze tabs for later ・Tap ⏰ on a tab (or right-click it) to put it away until later: in 1 hour, in 3 hours, tomorrow morning or next week ・It reopens on its own when the time comes ・Check or cancel snoozed tabs from 💤 ■ Clean up duplicate tabs ・👯 shows how many duplicate tabs you have open ・Keep one and close the rest — page by page, or all at once ・Pinned tabs are never closed ■ Hover card ・Hover over a tab to see its full title and URL ・Sleeping tabs show roughly how much memory they freed ・Want to hop between tabs? Turn on "Keep the panel open when you pick a tab" in ⚙️ Settings ■ Screenshot preview (optional) ・Add a small screenshot of the page to the hover card ・Off by default. When you turn it on, Chrome asks for permission to read site data. It's used only to capture these thumbnails, which stay in your browser and are cleared when you close Chrome ・Chrome's own pages (like New Tab) and tabs you haven't visited yet can't be captured ■ Recent downloads (optional) ・Show your 10 latest downloads in their own section below the tabs, laid out the same way as your tabs. Click to open a file, or 📁 to show it in its folder ・Press "Show" in that section the first time, and Chrome asks for permission to manage your downloads. It's used only to list and open your recent files. You can hide the section in Settings ■ Make it yours ・Choose how your tabs are laid out in ⚙️ Settings: a detailed list, app-style tiles with names, or icon-only circles, small or extra small, so even a huge pile of tabs fits on one screen. Hover over a tab to see which one it is ・7 color themes, light and dark. The octopus dresses up a little differently in each one 😎 ・English / Japanese (in ⚙️ Settings) ・A friendly octopus who comments on how many tabs you have — and gets bored, dozes off, or welcomes you back 🐙 ■ Privacy Tabumaru works entirely inside your browser. It does not collect, send, or sell any data. Screenshot previews never leave your device. Snoozed tabs and the list of tabs closed automatically (title, URL and time, up to 50) are saved only on your device, and you can clear them at any time. Shortcut: Alt+Shift+L opens the panel, and pressing it again closes it (the toolbar icon works the same way). You can change the key from ⚙️ Settings. You can also right-click a page or the toolbar icon and choose "Open Tabumaru". The side panel can be shown on the left or right from Chrome's settings ("Side panel position").
