Overview

Sends open pages and formatted text with images to an e-reader through the installed TabTome app.

TabTome turns browser pages and pasted text into EPUB books for focused reading on Kindle or PocketBook. Important: TabTome requires the separate TabTome Windows application. Install the Windows application from the project website before using the extension. How it works: 1. Open one or more pages in your browser. 2. Click the TabTome extension and select the tabs you want to send — up to 25 pages in one book. 3. Or switch to Text mode and paste formatted text or an image from the clipboard. 4. TabTome prepares an EPUB and sends it by email to your configured Kindle or PocketBook address. What is preserved: - article text and headings; - links; - lists; - tables; - images; - formatting from pasted rich text. You can choose to send text only or include images. Local processing: The TabTome browser extension passes the content you select to the TabTome Windows app installed on the same computer. The app cleans the content, processes images, creates the EPUB, and sends it through the email account configured by you. TabTome does not provide a cloud library or an online account. Page content, pasted text, EPUB files, email addresses, and SMTP credentials are not sent to TabTome servers. Email delivery is made through the provider and e-reader service selected by you. Requirements: - Windows 10 version 1809 or newer; - a Chromium-based browser that supports Manifest V3; - the TabTome Windows app installed separately; - an email account that can send the EPUB; - a Kindle Send-to-Kindle or Send-to-PocketBook address; - the sender address must be approved by the corresponding e-reader service. The Windows app is distributed separately from the browser extension. Follow the installation instructions on the TabTome website before using the extension. Test environment: - Windows 10 or Windows 11 - Google Chrome - TabTome Windows application installed - Native Messaging host registered by the installer Steps: 1. Install and start the TabTome Windows application. 2. Open Chrome and install this extension. 3. Open the extension settings. 4. Configure an SMTP sender account and a Kindle or PocketBook delivery address. 5. Open any article. 6. Click the TabTome toolbar icon. 7. Select the current tab. 8. Click Send. 9. Verify that an EPUB job is created and sent through the configured email account. Limitations: - browser internal pages, browser settings, built-in PDF viewers, and extension store pages cannot be extracted; - pages that require browser permissions unavailable to extensions may not be readable; - videos, forms, interactive page behavior, active scripts, and original website styling are not copied to the EPUB; - article extraction depends on the structure of the page and the content available in the selected tab; - email providers and Kindle or PocketBook may apply their own attachment-size and delivery limits. TabTome is an independent open-source project and is not affiliated with Amazon, Kindle, PocketBook, Mozilla, Google, or any browser vendor.
