TabStash
Overview
Stash open tabs into one page. Encrypted local storage; optional portable encrypted vault via native tool.
TabStash clears your tab clutter with a single click. Press the toolbar icon and every open tab collapses into one tidy, pinned page — grouped, searchable, and ready to restore whenever you need it. Your data encrypted on disk and never sent anywhere. For those who want to connect it, you can find the tool here: https://github.com/youbeat001/-TabStash-Save-Tabs-Links- The extension can be connected to a Python tool to save the list locally. The list is loaded into the extension if it is empty. In any case, the tool is not required for the extension to function, as the extension is standalone. If the tool is not connected to the extension, a red indicator will appear on the extension’s icon. If it is connected, the indicator will turn green. Everything stays on your machine. Stashed tabs are stored locally and encrypted with AES-256-GCM (Web Crypto), so their contents are never written to disk in plain text. TabStash makes no network requests and talks to no remote server. Key features: One-click stash: send all tabs in the current window to a single page, freeing memory and mental space Organized groups: stashed tabs are saved as timestamped groups you can rename, reorder, merge, and collapse Drag and drop: move links between groups, reorder them, and rearrange groups freely Trash and restore: removed groups and links go to a trash you can restore from or empty Encrypted local storage: AES-256-GCM encryption for everything kept on disk Optional portable vault: pair with a companion native tool to sync an encrypted vault file across profiles or machines, with three-way merge and live file-change detection — entirely local, no cloud Status badge: the toolbar icon shows at a glance whether the native tool is connected (green) or offline (red) Optional auto-open: have your stash page reappear at browser startup (off by default, fully under your control) Private-window aware: works in permanent-private-browsing setups like Mullvad Browser once you allow it to run in private windows Data handling: TabStash processes your browsing activity (the URLs and titles of tabs you choose to stash) solely to provide its core function. This data is kept locally, encrypted, and — when the optional native tool is used — written only to a local vault file on your own device. Nothing is transmitted to any external server.
