TabSlate
Overview
Stores and syncs rich-text notes for your browser tabs, organized by domain.
TabSlate is a clean, modern, and highly secure browser notepad that lets you write and organize rich-text notes for the websites you visit. No more cluttered bookmarks or scattered text files. TabSlate automatically detects the website you are currently viewing and loads your notes for that specific domain. Whether you are bookmarking code snippets on StackOverflow, storing credentials guidelines on GitHub, or keeping a research diary on Wikipedia—TabSlate keeps your notes right where they belong. 🚀 Key Features 🌐 Domain-Specific Context: Notes are mapped directly to the domain name of your active tab. When you return to a website, your notes are waiting for you. ✍️ Custom Rich-Text Editor: Format your notes exactly how you want with Bold, Italic, Underline, Bulleted lists, Numbered lists, and Hyperlinks. Links in your notes open in new tabs automatically for a smooth browsing experience. ☁️ Secure Google Drive Sync: Link your Google Account to backup and sync your notes across multiple devices automatically. Notes are stored in a hidden, secure folder (appDataFolder) on your Google Drive, meaning they will not clutter your main Drive dashboard. 🌗 Light & Dark Themes: Switch between a premium, deep-slate Dark Theme and a clean, high-contrast Light Theme. Your preferences are saved automatically. 📋 Consolidated 'All Notes' Dashboard: Open the unified notes list to browse, search, edit, or delete notes for any domain you’ve ever written on. 💾 Manual Saving & Keyboard Shortcuts: Full control over your saves. Click the intuitive Save button in the footer (which lights up when changes are made) or use standard Cmd+S (Mac) or Ctrl+S (Windows/Linux) shortcuts to save and sync. 🛡️ Privacy & Security First Zero Middleman Servers: TabSlate does not use external servers. Your notes are saved directly in your local browser storage and uploaded straight to your personal Google Drive account. Minimal Scope Permissions: TabSlate only requests Google Drive's restricted appDataFolder scope. This means the extension can only read and write its own configuration file, and has zero access to your other files, docs, or folders in Google Drive. 💡 How it Works Install the extension and open it on any website. Write notes in the rich text area, apply formatting, and click Save (or press Cmd+S / Ctrl+S). Connect your Google account via the cloud icon in the top right to enable cross-device background sync. Access all your saved pages anytime using the All Notes dashboard list.
