Activate any tab with a single click. Close individual tabs or entire groups effortlessly. Use the 'N' buttons to jot down quick notes – note that these are visual only in this version. To power these advanced AI features, TabSage securely utilizes the Google Gemini API via your own API key. This ensures you have control and transparency. Getting started is simple: Obtain your free personal API key from Google AI Studio: https://aistudio.google.com/app/apikey Open the TabSage Options – right-click the TabSage icon in your toolbar then select Options. Securely paste your API key into the designated field and save. Your API key is stored locally and securely using chrome storage sync and is only used to make direct calls to the Google Gemini API when you initiate an AI action like grouping, summarizing, or suggesting. TabSage is currently in Beta v1.0.1! This means the core AI features – grouping, summarization, and suggestions – are functional and ready for you to use. However, as an active development project, you might encounter occasional rough edges, and some planned features are still being built. Known Limitation: Custom group titles, notes added via the 'N' buttons, and drag-and-drop reordering are not saved between sessions in this beta version. TabSage primarily uses tab URLs and titles for AI grouping. When you request a link summary, minimal page content such as title, meta description, headings, and first paragraph is extracted by a temporary content script and sent to the Gemini API via your key. Group summaries and suggestions use the titles and URLs within that group. No browsing data is stored long-term by TabSage itself, aside from your API key and temporary session data needed for display.
