Every table extractor works on the easy tables. This one works on the rest. NO ROW LIMITS. Not on the free version either. A 5,000-row table exports as 5,000 rows. This is the entire reason the extension exists: the popular paid alternatives cap the free tier at a few hundred rows, and that cap is what their own reviewers complain about most. READS TABLES THAT AREN'T TABLES. Half the web's data no longer sits in a real HTML table. Modern apps build grids out of plain divs, and most extractors see nothing at all on those pages. TableSnag reads three kinds: - Real HTML tables, including merged cells — a cell spanning three rows comes out as that value in all three rows, which is what a spreadsheet needs. - Accessibility grids (role="table" and role="grid"). - Repeated-structure div grids, the kind React and AG-Grid produce. It also stitches a frozen first column back onto its table. Sports standings and financial screeners often render the row labels as a separate table beside the numbers; taken alone that gives you a file of figures with nothing saying what they belong to. SURVIVES EXCEL. Exports are checked cell by cell before they are written: - Both thousands conventions. 1,234.50 and 1.234,50 are the same number. - Currency symbols kept with the value, not thrown away. - Accounting negatives. (1,234.00) is minus 1,234, not text. - Percentages become real percentages. - Leading zeros survive. Product code 00417 stays 00417, not 417. - Dates go out as YYYY-MM-DD, and where a date is genuinely ambiguous — 03/04/2024 could be either — you are told rather than guessed at. - Cells starting with = + - or @ are neutralised, so opening the file cannot run a formula somebody put on a web page.
