Overview

Quietly keeps your browser clean by closing tabs you haven't touched in a while. You're always in control.

TabKeeper closes tabs you've forgotten about — quietly, safely, and only after asking first. Everyone ends up with dozens (or hundreds) of open tabs, and most of them never get touched again. TabKeeper checks your tabs once a minute and closes the ones you haven't focused in a while, based on a threshold you choose. WHAT IT DOES - Closes tabs after 30 minutes to 7 days of inactivity, or a custom duration you set - Warns you before anything closes, with time to cancel - Keeps a history of every tab it's closed, so you can restore one, several, or all of them - Shows a badge count of how many tabs are currently eligible for cleanup - Pauses for 15 minutes, an hour, the rest of the day, or until you turn it back on WHAT IT NEVER TOUCHES - Pinned tabs - The tab you're currently viewing - Tabs playing audio or on a call - Browser and extension pages (chrome://, settings, the PDF viewer) - Anything you add to your whitelist - Every tab, while paused HOW IT DECIDES A TAB IS INACTIVE TabKeeper tracks the last time you actually clicked into a tab — never your browsing history, never what page you're on. A tab you've never focused gets a full threshold window before it's ever considered stale. PRIVACY TabKeeper doesn't collect or transmit any data. Everything — settings, whitelist, closed-tab history — stays in your browser's local storage. There's no account, no analytics, and no host permissions requested.
