Overview

Sorts new tabs into groups by habit: localhost into Dev, searches into Research. Tree tabs, workspaces and a review of old tabs.

TabHabit is a tab manager that sorts your tabs the way you already work. Pick what you do — dev work, research, shopping, or the sites you keep open most — and every new tab lands in the right group from then on. It lives in Chrome's side panel, keeps a tree of which tab opened which, and makes closing tabs safe, because nothing you close is lost. No account. No AI. Nothing leaves your browser. SORTED BY HABIT • Pick what you do. One click turns on a habit: Dev catches local servers, Research catches searches and reference pages, and there are more for work, social, shopping, video and news. TabHabit also suggests the sites you already have the most tabs open on. • Show it once. Right-click any tab and choose "Always put this site in…" to send every future tab from that site to the same group. • It never fights you. Tabs you move by hand stay where you put them, and a tab you're working in doesn't jump groups when you browse somewhere else. WORKSPACES YOU CAN FINISH • Every group is a workspace, and workspaces are Chrome's own tab groups, so they show in the tab strip too. Switch workspace in one click and the others fold away. • Mark a workspace Doing, Waiting or Done, and press Finish when it's over: the tabs close and the workspace waits under Finished, ready to reopen with its whole tree. • Park a workspace to put it away for later without losing a tab. REVIEW THE TABS YOU FORGOT • Review lists the tabs you haven't looked at in a week or more, oldest first. Close or keep each one in a couple of minutes. • It's a quiet count in the panel. No badges, no reminders, unless you ask. NOTHING IS EVER LOST • Your tree and workspaces come back after Chrome restarts, matched by address and order, with a note on anything uncertain. • Backups are saved on your device every few minutes and after any big change. Restore any of them in one click. • Reopening a closed tab puts it back exactly where it was, with its children. YOUR PHONE'S TABS, ON YOUR COMPUTER • If you use Chrome on your phone too, TabHabit shows your phone's open tabs in the panel, grouped by site, with a row to continue whatever you were just reading. • Turn a pile of them into a workspace in one click, or find any of them with search. It uses Chrome's own sync: no app to install, no new account. FIND ANYTHING • Search every window, folded branch, parked workspace, closed tab and, if you allow it, your bookmarks and history. MOVE TABS AROUND • Copy tabs as titled links, plain addresses, an outline that keeps the tree, or context for an AI assistant. Paste a list of links into TabHabit and they open as a workspace. • Duplicate a tab or a whole branch, open new tabs as a child or sibling, and save a group as a bookmark folder. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Mark a site "Never remember" and TabHabit leaves it out of groups, backups, closed tabs and its history lists, and can delete its visits from your browser history too. • Private windows are never saved. You can let your habits sort incognito tabs, and nothing from them is kept. • New features ship switched off, and TabHabit takes none of Chrome's keyboard shortcuts. FREE, WITH AN OPTIONAL PRO Habits, workspaces, Review, restore, backups, search, copy and paste, Never remember and your phone's tabs are free. Pro is a one-time purchase, with no subscription, that removes the free limits (5 parked workspaces, finished ones kept 30 days) and adds notes on parked workspaces, full history search, closed tabs that stay in the tree, advanced rules, and end-to-end encrypted sync of parked workspaces between Chrome and Firefox.
