# Chrome Web Store Listing ## Name TabGauge — Memory Dashboard ## Short description Measure page memory, monitor system RAM pressure, and safely sleep or close selected tabs. ## Category Productivity ## Detailed description Chrome feels slow, but which tabs should you deal with first? TabGauge gives you a clear, privacy-first dashboard for browser memory pressure and tab cleanup. ### SEE MEMORY PRESSURE AT A GLANCE View exact physical system RAM usage with a horizontal green-to-red pressure gauge, plus used and available memory values. ### MEASURE AND RANK ELIGIBLE TABS Enable Advanced Measurement to read page heap and performance counters from loaded HTTP and HTTPS tabs. TabGauge ranks measured tabs from highest to lowest so heavy web apps are easier to spot. Chrome does not expose complete per-tab process RAM to normal Web Store extensions. TabGauge is transparent about this: measured page heap does not include every image, GPU surface, shared process, browser overhead, or extension process. ### SELECT MULTIPLE TABS Search and filter open tabs, select several rows, then take one action: - Sleep selected tabs with Chrome's native discard feature - Close selected tabs after a safety confirmation - Focus any tab directly from the dashboard ### BUILT-IN SAFETY Pinned, audible, and active tabs are protected by default during bulk actions. You can change these preferences in Settings. ### PRIVACY FIRST - No account - No analytics or tracking - No ads - No remote code - No external server - No sale or sharing of browsing data Tab titles, URLs, memory values, and preferences are processed locally in your browser. ### TWO WAYS TO USE IT Open TabGauge in Chrome's side panel for a compact companion view, or launch the full dashboard for a wider tab list. ### WHY THE DEBUGGER PERMISSION IS REQUIRED Chrome discloses the debugger permission during installation because page measurement is a core feature. TabGauge invokes it only when you click Measure tabs. It attaches to each eligible tab briefly, reads page heap/performance counters, and detaches immediately. It does not read page text, form values, cookies, passwords, or network content. Take control of tab clutter without pretending browser memory is simpler than it really is.
