Overview

See every tab's age and move stale tabs into a searchable local archive. Auto-archive is optional and off by default.

TabFade helps people manage too many open browser tabs without using a complicated tab manager. It shows how long each open tab has been untouched and organizes tabs into Fresh, Aging, and Stale groups. When tabs are no longer needed right now, you can move them into a searchable local archive instead of permanently losing them. Features: • See how long each open tab has been untouched • Group tabs into Fresh, Aging, and Stale • Choose a stale threshold of 3, 7, 14, or 30 days • Archive individual tabs manually • Archive all eligible stale tabs with one click • Search archived tabs by title or URL • Restore archived tabs at any time • Copy archived URLs • Export the archive as JSON • Display an optional stale-tab badge • Enable optional auto-archive after 14, 30, 60, or 90 days Auto-archive is off by default and only runs after the user explicitly enables it. Tabs are saved to the local archive before they are closed. Pinned tabs are never archived. Tabs playing or muting audio are excluded from bulk and automatic archiving. TabFade does not read webpage content. It has no content scripts, no host permissions, no account, no analytics, and no external server. Tab titles, URLs, activity timestamps, settings, and archived entries remain stored locally in Chrome on the user’s device.
