šÆ TabClub Memory Manager ā The Smartest Way to Organize Your Tabs & Save Memory Tired of drowning in dozens of open tabs? TabClub Memory Manager automatically organizes every tab you open into color-coded "clubs" by website ā and then saves your memory by putting inactive tabs to sleep. No manual sorting, no clutter, no more RAM-hungry browsers. Just open tabs and let TabClub do the rest. āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā ā WHY TABCLUB? Every time you open a new tab, Chrome uses memory. 20 tabs? That's easily 2 GB of RAM gone. 50 tabs? Your computer slows to a crawl. TabClub solves both problems at once: ⢠It automatically groups tabs from the same website together so your tab bar stays clean and organized. ⢠It automatically discards (puts to sleep) tabs you haven't used in a while, freeing up hundreds of megabytes of RAM ā without closing them. The result? A faster browser, a cleaner tab bar, and a calmer mind. āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā š CORE FEATURES āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā šµ Automatic Tab Grouping ("Clubs") āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā TabClub watches every tab you open and automatically groups tabs from the same website into a named, color-coded group ā a "club." How it works: ⢠Open two or more tabs from the same website (e.g., two GitHub pages) and TabClub instantly creates a "GitHub" club with a unique color. ⢠Navigate a tab to a different website? TabClub detects the domain change, removes the tab from its old club, and adds it to the correct one. ⢠Open a link from one site that redirects to another? TabClub handles cross-domain navigation seamlessly ā the tab is re-grouped in real time. ⢠Subdomains are intelligently merged: mail.google.com, docs.google.com, and drive.google.com all join the same "Google" club. ⢠Country-code TLDs are handled too (e.g., .co.uk, .com.au, .co.in, .co.jp). ⢠Drag a tab while it's being grouped? TabClub gracefully retries after the drag finishes ā no errors, no interruptions. Each club gets: ⢠A deterministic color from Chrome's 9 group colors (blue, cyan, green, yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, grey) ā the same website always gets the same color, so you build muscle memory over time. ⢠A clean title derived from the domain name (e.g., "GitHub," "YouTube," "Reddit"). ⢠The website's favicon displayed prominently in the popup dashboard. āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā š¤ Automatic Memory Management āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā Chrome tabs are memory-hungry. A single tab can use 50ā150 MB of RAM. TabClub automatically frees that memory by "discarding" tabs you haven't looked at in a while. What does "discarding" mean? ⢠The tab stays visible in your tab bar ā it doesn't close. ⢠But Chrome unloads its contents from memory, freeing up RAM. ⢠When you click the tab again, it reloads instantly. ⢠It's exactly like Chrome's built-in tab discarding, but smarter and automatic. How the memory manager works: ⢠TabClub tracks the last time you viewed each tab. ⢠Every minute, it checks if any tabs have been inactive longer than your configured timeout (default: 5 minutes). ⢠Tabs that exceed the timeout are automatically discarded. ⢠The active tab is never discarded ā you'll never lose what you're working on. ⢠Pinned tabs are protected by default (configurable). ⢠Tabs playing audio are protected by default (configurable). ⢠Internal browser pages (chrome://, about:, etc.) are always skipped. You can also manually trigger memory management: ⢠Click "Free All Memory" in the popup to instantly discard every eligible inactive tab. ⢠Click the sleep icon on any individual club to discard just that club's inactive tabs. Memory savings are displayed in real time: ⢠The popup shows estimated memory saved (e.g., "392 MB saved"). ⢠A visual memory bar shows current Chrome memory usage vs. what you've saved. ⢠Stats include: total tabs, active tabs, sleeping tabs, and estimated savings. āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā š Beautiful Dashboard Popup āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā Click the TabClub icon in your toolbar to open a sleek, modern dashboard that gives you full visibility into every open tab. The dashboard shows: ⢠Memory stats bar ā total tabs, active tabs, sleeping tabs, and estimated memory saved. ⢠Estimated Chrome memory usage with a visual progress bar showing active memory vs. saved memory. ⢠A list of every active club, each showing: ā The website's favicon or a color-coded placeholder. ā The club name and domain. ā Tab count badge. ā Save, sleep, and expand/collapse controls. Click any club to expand it and see all tabs inside, each showing: ā The tab's favicon and title. ā The URL path for quick identification. ā Status badges: "Active" (green) or "Sleeping" (dimmed). ā A close button to remove individual tabs. Click any tab to instantly switch to it. The popup closes and Chrome focuses that tab ā even across windows. āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā š¾ Save & Restore Groups āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā Working on a research project? Tab session for a specific topic? Save it. ⢠Click the save icon on any club to bookmark the entire group ā all tab URLs and titles are preserved. ⢠Saved groups appear in a collapsible "Saved Groups" section at the bottom of the popup. ⢠Each saved group shows: the group name, tab count, time since it was saved (e.g., "2h ago"), and a "Restore" button. ⢠Click "Restore" to reopen all tabs from a saved group instantly. ⢠Delete saved groups you no longer need with the ā button. ⢠Saved groups persist across browser sessions ā they're stored in Chrome's local storage. This is perfect for: ⢠Research sessions you want to return to later. ⢠Work projects with specific sets of tabs. ⢠Quick tab session bookmarking without using bookmarks folders. āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā šØ Auto-Collapse: Focus Mode āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā When you switch from one tab to another, TabClub automatically collapses the club you just left and expands the club you switched to. This keeps your tab bar tidy ā only the tabs you're currently working with are visible. ⢠Switch to a YouTube tab? The "YouTube" club expands and all other clubs collapse. ⢠Switch to a GitHub tab? "GitHub" expands, "YouTube" collapses. ⢠This behavior is fully automatic and can be toggled off in settings. This "focus mode" grouping means your tab bar never feels overwhelming, even with 50+ tabs open. āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā āļø SETTINGS & CUSTOMIZATION TabClub includes a full-featured settings page with the following options: šØ Appearance ⢠Theme: Choose between Dark mode, Light mode, or System (follows your OS preference). ⢠Both themes are carefully designed for readability and comfort. š¤ Memory Management ⢠Auto-sleep timeout: Set anywhere from 1 minute to 60 minutes. Tabs inactive longer than this are automatically discarded. No external libraries, no frameworks, no bloat. āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā š GETTING STARTED 1. Install TabClub Memory Manager from the Chrome Web Store. 2.
