Tabcase: tab snapshots, session history & backup
Overview
Your tabs never vanish again. Automatic snapshots, selective restore, and a local backup file on your computer. No account.
Tabcase keeps a history of your open tabs and makes sure you can always get them back. Automatic snapshots, selective restore, "save & close" lists and a backup file on your own computer. No account, no cloud, no subscription. Why Tabcase The most popular tab managers lose data: an update wipes months of saved tabs, a migration points to an empty database, "restore all" crashes the browser, the free plan caps you at 60 tabs. Tabcase was built around those complaints. What it does • Automatic snapshots: every few minutes (your choice), when you close a window and shortly after Chrome starts. Only when something changed, so the history stays small. • History you can browse: go back to how your browser looked an hour, a day or a month ago. Restore one tab, one window or everything. Tab groups and pinned tabs come back too. • Restore without choking the browser: large windows reopen with their tabs unloaded; each tab loads when you click it. • Save & close: move the tabs of a window into a list (like OneTab) with no limit, and reopen them one by one or all at once. Lock a list to keep its items. • Backup file on your disk: a plain JSON file in Downloads/Tabcase, updated automatically after changes. Readable in any text editor; keep it in your own cloud if you like. • Import from what you use today: OneTab exports (.txt), Toby and Session Buddy exports (.json or .html), Arc's StorableSidebar.json, Chrome bookmarks (.html), Markdown or any text with links. • Export everything as JSON (re-importable), HTML or Markdown. • Search across the whole history by title or URL. • Side panel, keyboard shortcuts (Alt+Shift+T opens the panel, Alt+Shift+S saves and closes), light and dark themes, English and Portuguese. Privacy • Everything stays on your computer: tab titles and URLs live in the extension's storage and in the backup file. No account, no sync server, no analytics. • Chrome describes the "tabs" permission as "read your browsing history". Tabcase uses it only to see the open tabs; it does not read your history list, and nothing leaves your device. • If you buy Pro, the extension checks your license key once a week to detect refunds. That request carries only the key. Free and Pro • Free forever: unlimited manual snapshots and saved tabs, "save & close" lists, restore, import and export. • Pro: automatic snapshots, automatic history beyond 7 days, the backup file and search across the whole history. • Every install starts with a 30-day Pro trial. No card, no account. • Pro is a one-time license, USD 5, with a 14-day refund. No subscription. Tabcase cannot see chrome:// pages or other extensions' pages (Chrome blocks that), so those are not saved.
