Overview
Close tabs from domains you trust for bulk cleanup.
TabBroom helps you clean up a crowded browser: close tabs from domains you choose, inspect each row before closing, or quiet tabs playing sound. Add your safe-to-close domains in Settings, one per line. Open the toolbar popup to see the total, a colour-coded share bar, and counts grouped by domain or cleanup rule. Open a row’s Details to inspect its tab titles, addresses, site icons, and last-viewed times before closing that row or using Close tabs for the full cleanup. Features: - Close matching tabs across your open browser windows. - Add the site you are on to your list from the popup, and close one row of tabs at a time. - Include subdomains, or turn that option off to match only the exact domains you entered. - Optionally include empty and new tabs in the same cleanup action. This option is off by default. - Optionally close duplicate tabs, keeping one copy of each address and skipping sites or addresses on a never-close list. This option is off by default. - Optionally close tabs not viewed in a number of days you choose (7 to start). This option is off by default. - Optionally include tabs left untouched on the Google, YouTube, Bing, or DuckDuckGo home page, and the page a finished sign-in leaves open for GitHub device sign-in, the Google Cloud CLI, Claude Code, or Cloudflare Wrangler, judged from the tab's address. Tick a whole group or single pages; each is off by default. - Keep pinned tabs and the active tab in each window open during cleanup. - Emergency Quiet button: when tabs are playing sound, the popup names the playing sites and lets you mute or close all audible, unmuted tabs. Alt+Shift+M mutes and Alt+Shift+Q closes from anywhere in the browser. Quiet includes pinned and active tabs; Unmute restores only tabs TabBroom muted. - Keep your domain list and settings in local browser storage. TabBroom runs only when you use its popup or its two keyboard shortcuts (Alt+Shift+M mutes and Alt+Shift+Q closes tabs playing sound). It does not automatically close tabs in the background. Website matching applies to HTTP and HTTPS URLs. Browser internal pages are ignored, except supported empty/new-tab pages when you enable that option. Your tab information is processed in your browser. TabBroom has no analytics, accounts, or remote service. It sends no tab information or settings to the developer. Details may request a site icon from the site serving it when it is not cached. Getting started: 1. Install TabBroom and open its toolbar popup. 2. Click Settings, enter domains you are comfortable closing, and save. 3. Return to the popup, check the counts, and click the close button. Choose your domains carefully: the action closes every eligible matching tab, including tabs with unfinished work. This version of TabBroom (1.5.0) does not provide its own undo button.
