)Overview
Customize every new tab with animated scenes, curated images, local weather, and a calm, personalized space for your day.
Every new tab is a chance to go somewhere. Tabbit gives you somewhere to go. Tabbit replaces Chrome's default new tab with a scene worth looking at: survey a generated solar system, drift above a neon city at night, watch a museum painting appear one brush stroke at a time, or fall down a Wikipedia rabbit hole. The time and your local weather sit quietly on top. No news feeds, no crowded dashboards, no widgets competing for your attention. Pick a scene and it greets you on every tab you open. Most are generated fresh each time, so the view is never quite the same twice. When you want a change, pick another. Worlds to Explore: • Starbound: survey generated planets, moons, rings, and stars, then leap to a new system through cinematic hyperspace. • Maze 95: roam an endless Windows 95-inspired 3D maze, collecting coins and gems, dodging bombs, catching speed boosts, and unlocking doors along the way. • TabCraft (Beta): explore an endless block-built wilderness, hunting biome-specific glowing shards through tall forests, waterways, and mountain ranges. • Endless Expedition (Beta): trek a procedurally generated red-planet landscape behind a retro CRT nav HUD that tracks distance traveled and points of interest discovered. • Tabrooms (Beta): follow an autonomous wanderer through an endless liminal office maze, recovering signal fragments and slipping through the exit into a freshly generated corridor. • Neon City: drift above a generated metropolis of distinct districts, glowing towers, layered streets, and moving traffic. Scenes That Live and Breathe: • Prismatic Horizons: layered, prismatic terrain that shifts through dawn, daylight, dusk, and night using your local time and weather. • Falling Sand: build a shifting sand pile, with a choice of color themes. • Blob Eat Blob: a colorful ecosystem that hunts, eats, grows, and begins again when the final survivor bursts into a new generation. • Game of Life: a full-screen cellular automaton with a choice of classic rulesets and color themes. Art, Discovery, and Nostalgia: • Brushwork: a public-domain painting from the Met or the Rijksmuseum, spreading outward in ragged brush-stroke marks as if painted in front of you. • Rabbit Hole: a deck of cards swirls in and settles on a random Wikipedia article, with a snippet and a link to read the rest. • Curated Images: discover photography by subject, choose how results are ranked, and add an optional Ken Burns pan and zoom. • Tab Transit (Beta): turn your locally stored browsing session into a private, growing transit map with scalable station counts and color palettes. • DVD Bounce: the classic color-changing logo, still ricocheting around the screen in search of the perfect corner hit. Time and Weather at a Glance: • See the current time and local conditions on every new tab. • Set your location once. • Switch between °F and °C whenever you like. Quick Links When You Want Them: • Add the sites you actually use to a quick links button on the new tab. • Optionally auto-fill tiles from your most-visited sites. • Drag any tile to reorder, or dismiss one you don't want. Make It Yours: • Every scene brings its own controls in Tabbit's options. • Your scenes keep score, tracking things like distance traveled, articles read, and shards collected. • Switch scenes as often as you like.
