Tab Video Timer
Overview
Adds a countdown timer to your tab title showing time remaining on any video.
____________________________ What's new in v2.0.6 - New option to keep video playing when switching tabs — stops sites from pausing playback on tab switch. - Numerous bug fixes including mute button, LIVE badge, overlay behavior, and watch-time accuracy. ____________________________ Tab Video Timer adds helpful playback info and controls to every site—without tracking you. What it does - Time in tab title (VOD): countdown or elapsed, speed-adjusted for 1.5×, 2× etc.—even in the background. - Live elapsed in tab title: count-up for YouTube/Twitch live streams. - YouTube chapter titles: current chapter name prepended to the tab title while active. - Page overlay: draggable floating timer that hovers over any page—toggle from the popup. - Watch-time stats: tracks how long you watch per site, stored locally. View totals, per-site breakdowns, and a 7-day bar chart right in the popup. - Quick Mute/Unmute: one click mutes all media on the page (works across iframes). - "Finished" banner: optionally keep a Finished notice in the title as long as you want (including Forever). - Per-site controls: enable/disable the timer and choose whether to show "Finished" on specific sites. Key features - Countdown or elapsed mode—your choice. Both respect pause and playback speed. - Speed-aware: at 2× playback the countdown shows real-world time remaining. - Live timer with fallbacks to handle tricky players and DVR quirks. - Multi-video picker: on pages with multiple players, pin the one you want to track. - Break reminder: browser notification after N continuous minutes of watching (0 = off). - Video-end notification: optional alert when a video finishes. - Daily limit: set a minute threshold; a warning bar appears in the popup when exceeded. - Cross-frame mute for embeds and iframes. - Smart popup: Now Playing tab shows icon, state, rate badge, progress bar, and large time display. Stats tab shows today's watch time, per-site breakdown, and 7-day chart. - Customizable prefixes (Live, VOD, Paused), title separator, % progress in title, update interval, and Finished hold time. - Low overhead; no external requests. How to use 1. Install and pin the extension. 2. Open any page with video or audio. 3. Watch the tab title — VOD shows countdown or elapsed; LIVE shows a count-up. 4.
