Tab Sweeper
Overview
Automatically closes tabs whose URL matches your patterns.
Tab Sweeper closes tabs whose URLs match patterns you set. It's meant for the small tabs that accumulate during the workday and serve no purpose once they've loaded — identity refresh pages, OAuth hand-offs, "you can close this window now" pages, and app-launch leftovers. How it works: • Add patterns using simple wildcards (e.g. https://.example.com/callback) or regular expressions. Patterns match the full URL, including query strings and #fragments. • When a tab's final URL matches, it's closed automatically. Tabs are only closed after the page settles, so redirect chains and login flows that merely pass through a matching URL are left alone. • Built-in patterns are included and can be toggled individually. • Options: pause everything with one switch, skip pinned tabs, or sweep currently open matching tabs on demand. Notes and limitations: • Patterns you write are matched literally — a broad pattern like google will close more than you expect. Anchor patterns to a domain and path where possible. • The extension needs the "tabs" permission to read tab URLs and close matches. It does not collect or transmit any data; patterns are stored in Chrome's sync storage so they follow your profile. • It never closes browser-internal pages (chrome:// and similar).
