Latr is a tab reminder that knows which page it belongs to. What you do now is leave the tab open. It works, and it costs nothing — which is why nothing has replaced it. What the tab never learned is when. By Thursday it is one of thirty, and it says nothing about the deadline that made you keep it. So Latr is built to cost less than that. One keystroke snoozes the tab you are on, at your usual time, with no window opening and nothing to type. It is how you save tabs for later without keeping them open. When it fires you click once and you are back exactly where you were — the page itself, not a line of text reading "check that thing". NOTHING HERE CAN SHUT DOWN AND TAKE YOUR TABS WITH IT Half the tab snooze extensions people recommend to each other stopped being updated years ago, and the stories are always the same: a queue of pages that was supposed to wake up next week, and never did. There is no account, no login and no server. Your reminders are records in your own browser's storage, on your own machine, and a free install makes no network requests at all. Backup is plain JSON and there is a CSV export for a spreadsheet, so every reminder you have is a date, a title and an address in a file you own — that is genuinely the whole record. Nothing to sign up for, nothing to be signed out of, and nothing that can close down and take your reminders with it. It works the second after you install it. FOUR WAYS TO SAVE ONE • Press Alt+Shift+Y. The tab you are on is filed an hour out, or at whatever default you set. Nothing opens. • Highlight a date on any page, right-click, "Remind me about this". Latr reads the time straight out of the words you selected — "next Friday at 9am", "in two weeks", "tomorrow morning". Nothing opens, nothing to type twice. • Click the toolbar icon for the tab you are on. The form opens with the page title and a sensible time already filled in, so changing the time is the only thing left to do. • Type "rem" in the address bar, then a phrase: rem next tuesday 5pm Write the time however you would say it. The whole interface, and the date parsing with it, is translated into nine languages and mirrors for right-to-left layout. WHEN IT FIRES A desktop notification with the tab's title. Click it and the page reopens in a new tab. Snoozing a tab is one click from the notification itself, or from the reminder's own row — you choose which two of the seven snooze lengths sit on the buttons (+15 min, +30 min, +1 hour, +3 hours, this evening, tomorrow morning, this weekend). If your computer was asleep or Chrome was closed, the reminder arrives the moment the browser is next open, and it says that it is late rather than appearing without explanation. WHAT ELSE IS IN THERE • A queue sorted soonest-first, searchable across titles, sites and your own notes • A month calendar view, with a count strip: due today, overdue, repeating, pinned • Repeats: daily, every weekday, weekly, monthly, the same weekday each month ("the third Thursday"), the last working day of the month, or every N days • Quiet hours — a window where nothing fires, held rather than rescheduled, so a daily 2am reminder stays a daily 2am reminder • Your own colour tags and folders, plus saved filter views • Domain rules: for sites you always treat the same way, a rule fills the form in — how far out, whether it repeats, which tag, which folder. It is a default, not a decision, and the form is still there • Templates for the tabs you save again and again • Early warning, a heads-up before the reminder itself • Pin a reminder above the time sort • Ctrl+K opens a command palette over every action and every pending reminder • Optional tab thumbnails, so similar-sounding titles stay tellable apart • Bulk select, bulk snooze, bulk move, bulk delete • Undo on everything destructive. No confirmation dialogs IT ALSO REACHES YOUR PHONE A browser extension can only fire while the browser is running, and there are no extensions on mobile. So Latr hands off: one click adds the reminder to Google Calendar or Outlook, or downloads a .ics file for Apple Calendar. Repeats survive the handoff as a proper RRULE — a daily standup arrives as a daily standup, not as one entry on one morning. BRING IN WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE Import a bookmark folder, spread out at whatever spacing you like, with a preview first and a one-click undo of the whole import. Or paste a list of links from anywhere — a reading list, a Todoist export, a spreadsheet column, an email. Anything link-shaped is picked up. PRIVACY, STATED AS NUMBERS Latr has no account, no login, no analytics and no telemetry. A free install makes no network requests at all — not one. Your reminders are stored by your own browser and never leave the machine unless you turn on sync, which uses Chrome's own profile sync rather than a server of ours. The single exception in the whole product is checking a Pro licence key, which happens only if you buy one, and which never carries a reminder. Settings has a Privacy panel that shows the actual figures rather than a policy: data sent, servers contacted, bytes stored on this device. The install prompt asks for no access to your browsing history and no access to the content of the sites you visit. Latr reads a page's title and address at the single moment you choose to save it, and nothing else, ever. Bookmark access is optional and is requested from the settings card that uses it, so it never appears at install time. Backup and restore is plain JSON. Nothing is locked in. HONEST LIMITS • Reminders fire while Chrome is running. If the browser is closed at the moment one is due, it arrives when you next open Chrome and tells you it was late. Use the calendar handoff for anything that genuinely cannot slip. • Chrome allows exactly two buttons on a notification, so snooze offers two of the seven presets — you pick which two. • There is no mobile app, and there will not be one, because the browser it lives in has no extensions on mobile. Everything above is free, permanently, and there is no trial and nothing behind a login. Latr Pro is a one-time $19 licence that adds themes, notification sounds and unlimited folders, templates, saved views and per-site rules. It changes how Latr looks and sounds, never whether a reminder arrives — a lapsed or unreachable licence cannot cost you a notification. There is still no account. Chrome 116 or newer.
