WHY THIS ONE Most tab managers are fine until the day they aren't. The reviews for this category are full of the same two sentences: "it stopped at 60 tabs" and "it deleted everything". Tab Sessions is built around not doing that. • Automatic backup before every single change. The last 5 states are always kept. • If your data is ever damaged, the extension restores it from backup and tells you — instead of quietly opening empty, which is what people experience as "it deleted everything". • Backups are local and free. TAB GROUPS COME BACK PROPERLY Groups are restored with their original titles and colors, in the original order, with pinned tabs still pinned. The extension cannot send your data anywhere, because it never talks to a server. • Everything is stored locally in Chrome. • Export everything to a JSON file whenever you want, and import it back on another machine. • It does not read the content of your pages. It only reads tab titles and URLs, which is what saving a tab means. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open the popup and click "Save this window" (or "Save all windows"). 2. Name the session, or keep the suggested name. 3. Click "Restore" whenever you need it back. That is the whole product. No dashboard to learn, no sidebar to configure.
