Tab Session Saver
Overview
Save and restore browser tab sessions locally. No cloud, no account.
## What is Tab Session Saver? Tab Session Saver lets you save and restore groups of browser tabs as named sessions. You choose exactly which tabs to save, then restore them whenever you need them—in a new window or in your current window. Everything stays on your device. No account, no cloud, no sync. ## Why use it? - **You’re in control.** Save all tabs in the current window, or pick specific tabs with checkboxes. No automatic saving of every tab you’ve ever opened. - **Sessions you can grow.** Save a session once, then add more tabs to it later with “Add Tabs to Session.” - **Fast and local.** Sessions are stored locally in your browser. Save or restore in seconds. Nothing is sent to the internet. - **Less tab clutter.** Replace endless bookmarks or dozens of open windows with a few named sessions you can reopen with one click. ## What you can do - **Save Current Window** — Save every tab in the current window (except Chrome internal pages) as a new session. You’re asked for a name. - **Save Selected Tabs** — See a list of your open tabs, select the ones you want with checkboxes, then save them as a new named session. - **Add Tabs to Session** — Select one or more open tabs and add them to an existing session. The session’s tab list is updated; you can restore the full set later. - **View Saved Sessions** — See all your sessions with name, tab count, and last updated time. - **Restore a Session** — Open all tabs in a session in a new window (default) or in the current window. For sessions with 50+ tabs, you’re asked to confirm before opening. - **Delete a Session** — Remove a session after a confirmation. Your tabs in that session are not closed; only the saved session is removed. ## Privacy and data - All session data (names and tab URLs/titles) is stored only in your browser’s local storage. - No data is sent to any server. No account or login is required. - The extension does not collect, analyze, or share your browsing data. ## Technical notes - Chrome internal pages (e.g. chrome://) are not saved or restored. - Restoring opens only normal web URLs. Very large restores (50+ tabs) require confirmation. - Restore is handled by a background script so that when you choose “Open in current window,” all tabs in the session open in that window even after the extension popup closes.
