)Overview
Customize browser tab titles for better organization. Change titles temporarily or permanently with URL patterns.
Tab ReTitler: rename any browser tab Give your tabs names you can find again. Type a new title, choose how long it should stay and press Enter. Saved titles come back every time you open the page. RENAME A TAB IN SECONDS Press Alt+Shift+T or click the toolbar icon, type a title and press Enter. A live preview shows the exact result before anything changes. CHOOSE HOW LONG A TITLE STAYS • Only this time: until you reload or leave the page • Set for this tab: until you close the tab • Only exact match: every time you open this exact URL • Set for this domain: on every page of the site and its subdomains Saved titles stay in place even when the site changes its own title, for example to show an unread counter. TEMPLATES AND VARIABLES Click a chip to insert {original}, {domain}, {date} or {time}. {url} and $0 work too. Example: "[Work] {original}" turns "Inbox (3)" into "[Work] Inbox (3)". REGULAR EXPRESSIONS Write /pattern/replacement/flags to reshape a title, or copy one of 7 ready-made templates: remove the site name after a hyphen or a pipe, remove brackets, add a prefix or suffix, clean up extra spaces and more. URL PATTERNS Cover many pages with one rule, for example *tracker\.example\.com/issues/(\d+)*, and reuse the captured part in the title with ${1}. ALL RULES IN ONE PLACE The options page lists every rule in a single table. Filter by type, edit a title in place, delete rules, and import or export your settings as a JSON file. DESIGNED TO STAY OUT OF YOUR WAY • Light and dark mode that follows your system • Full keyboard support and screen reader labels • Right-click menu for a quick temporary title • 9 languages: English, Türkçe, Deutsch, Español, Français, 日本語, Português, Русский, 中文 PRIVACY • No account, no analytics, no tracking • Your rules are kept in Chrome's own storage and follow your Chrome profile when sync is on • Nothing is sent to any other server • A page's title only changes when the page matches one of your rules or when you change it yourself Some pages, such as chrome:// pages and the Chrome Web Store, cannot be changed by any extension. Tab ReTitler tells you when that happens. WHAT'S NEW IN 1.2.1 • New design with a live title preview and a rebuilt options page • Saved titles no longer repeat themselves after a reload • Domain rules now include subdomains, and URL patterns fill ${1} correctly • Your default option and language choice are remembered • Tab locks stay on the device where you created them
