Tab Reload Timer — Auto Refresh Pages
1 rating
)Overview
Auto-reload tabs on a custom interval. Per-tab timers with random variation, badge countdown, and session restore.
Need a dashboard, queue, ticket page, or live feed to stay fresh? Tab Reload Timer reloads any tab on a schedule you set — each tab with its own independent timer. Open the popup, pick an interval (or hit a one-click preset), press Start. That's the whole workflow. A countdown badge on the toolbar icon always tells you when the next reload lands. What it does • Per-tab timers — every tab gets its own interval, from 30 seconds to hours • One-click presets (30s, 1m, 2m, 5m, 15m, 30m, 1h) plus a custom h/m/s input • Random variation — add ± jitter so reloads don't fire at robotic, identical intervals • Badge countdown — see the time remaining right on the toolbar icon • Active-jobs list — every running timer in one popup: live countdowns, pause, stop, or jump to the tab • Only reload when inactive — defers the reload while you're reading the page, fires the moment you switch away • Hard reload option — bypass the browser cache on every reload for pages that cache too aggressively • Stop after N reloads — "reload 20 times, then stop", with a "done" badge and an optional finished notification • Remembers your setup — the popup pre-fills the interval and options from your last timer • Pause all / stop all — control every running timer with one click • Survives restarts — timers are re-attached to your tabs after you restart the browser • Right-click menu — start or stop reloading straight from the page • Keyboard shortcut — Alt+Shift+R toggles reloading on the current tab • Clean, compact popup with automatic light/dark mode Why install it • Keep dashboards, monitors, and status boards current without touching them • Watch queues, tickets, builds, and auctions while you work in another tab • Refresh feeds and scoreboards in the background — without the page yanking itself out from under you while you read • Configure everything in two clicks; no options pages buried three levels deep Privacy first • No data collection, no analytics, no tracking, no account • Makes zero network requests of its own — reloading uses Chrome's built-in API • No host permissions and no content scripts; it cannot read or modify any page • Everything is stored locally in your browser Limitations to know • Minimum interval is 30 seconds (the scheduling floor Chrome gives Manifest V3 extensions) • Browser-internal pages (chrome://, the Web Store) can't be reloaded by extensions • Timers are restored after a restart by matching tab URLs, so a tab that changed address while the browser was closed won't be re-attached Open source — review the code, file issues, or contribute: https://github.com/souravas/tab-reload-timer
