Tab Refresh
Overview
Automatically refresh tabs matching URL patterns on a schedule
Tab Refresh lets you set up automatic tab reloads for any website, running silently in the background on whatever schedule you choose. WHAT IT DOES Add a URL pattern and an interval, hit Start, and Tab Refresh will reload matching tabs on schedule — no babysitting required. Rules persist across browser and tab restarts, so once you set it up, it just works. KEY FEATURES • URL pattern matching — target an exact page (https://example.com) or all pages under a domain (https://example.com/*) • Wildcard support — one checkbox adds /* to match any path under a domain • Case-insensitive matching — patterns match regardless of how the URL is capitalised • Persistent schedules — rules survive browser restarts; a running rule will fire again within its interval even after Chrome is closed and reopened • Per-rule start/stop — run or pause individual rules independently without losing your settings • Loading guard — if a tab is already loading when a refresh is due, Tab Refresh skips that cycle and waits for the next one • Visual status — toolbar icon turns green when any rule is running, red when all are stopped • Clean popup — see all your rules at a glance with their status, URL pattern, and interval HOW TO USE 1. Click the Tab Refresh icon in your toolbar 2. Enter a URL (e.g. https://dashboard.example.com) 3. Tick the /* checkbox if you want to match all pages under that domain 4. Set a refresh interval (minimum 2 minutes) 5. Click Add Rule, then click Start That's it. Tab Refresh handles the rest in the background. COMMON USE CASES • Keeping a live dashboard, monitoring page, or status board up to date • Automatically refreshing a web app that doesn't push live updates • Reloading an internal tool on a regular cadence without manual intervention • Watching a page for changes you need to catch quickly PRIVACY Tab Refresh does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data or browsing history. It reads tab URLs only to match them against the patterns you define, and the only action it takes is reloading a matched tab. All settings are stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local and never leave your device.
