Tab Position Controller
Overview
Control where new tabs open (first/last/left/right of current), activation after closing, and focus. URL rules; sort via Alt+T/U.
Take precise control of where new tabs open in Chrome — a reliable alternative to Tab Position Customizer and TabsPlus, which often put tabs in the wrong place. ■ New tab position Always first / Always last / Left of the current tab / Right of the current tab / Chrome default. Also applies to tabs without an opener, such as Ctrl+T and the New Tab button. ■ After closing a tab Choose what gets activated: First / Last / Left / Right / Recently used order / The tab that opened it / Chrome default. Focus is only steered when you close the active tab — closing background tabs never interrupts you. ■ New tab activation Force tabs opened by links, window.open, or duplicated tabs to load in the foreground or in the background. ■ URL rules Customize any of the above per URL. Supports * wildcards, matches both the new tab's URL and the opener page's URL; the first matching rule wins. ■ Tab sorting shortcuts Alt+T sorts the current window's tabs by title, Alt+U by URL. Pinned tabs always stay first, and tab groups are never split apart. ■ More The UI follows your browser's language automatically (English / 简体中文 / 繁體中文). Fully local: no network requests, no analytics, no tracking, no data collection.
