Tab Locker lets you protect any website with a master password, hiding the page content behind a lock screen until the correct password is entered perfect for shared computers, quick desk walkaways, or simply keeping sensitive tabs to yourself. Key Features: 1. Domain-Based Locking Lock a site once and it stays locked across every tab where it's open — not just the one you clicked from. The lock also persists across browser restarts, so your protected sites remain secure every time you open the browser. 2.True Content Hiding Locked pages don't just get covered with an overlay — the underlying content is fully hidden until you unlock it, so there's no risk of a flash of private information before the lock screen appears. 3. Strong Password Protection Your master password is never stored in plain text. It's protected using PBKDF2-SHA256 hashing with 150,000 iterations and a unique random salt for every password. 4. Brute-Force Protection After 5 incorrect attempts, an increasing lockout delay kicks in to block automated or repeated guessing attempts. 5. Auto Re-Lock on Idle Automatically re-lock all your sites after a period of inactivity. Choose from Disabled, 1, 5, 15, or 30 minutes in Settings. 6. Auto Re-Lock on Tab Switch Optionally re-lock a site the moment you switch away from its tab, adding an extra layer of protection while you multitask. 7. Bulk Actions Lock or unlock all your currently open tabs in a single click no need to go site by site. 8. Light & Dark Themes Choose System, Light, or Dark appearance to match your browser setup. Password Management Change your master password anytime from Settings, or reset all data if you ever forget it (this clears your password and locked site list it does not affect the websites themselves). Privacy First All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage APIs — nothing is ever sent to an external server. Tab Locker does not track your browsing activity, collect analytics, or transmit any personal data. How It Works: - Click the Tab Locker icon and create a master password (minimum 4 characters). - Open a site you want to protect, click the icon, and press "Lock" on the current tab card. - The site is now locked across all matching tabs and stays locked until you unlock it with your password. - Every time you open the popup, you'll need to re-enter your master password before viewing or managing your locked sites just like a password manager. Note: Tab Locker hides page visibility rather than encrypting the underlying page content. For full account security, continue to rely on the security features provided by each website itself.
