Keyboard-first tab and group control for Chrome.

Tab Key is a lightweight Chrome extension for keyboard-first tab and group control. It keeps the most common tab actions close to your hands: pin or unpin the current tab, move it left or right in the tab strip, and open a small keyboard-only popup for tab group actions. Use Chrome’s native shortcut page for the global shortcuts you use constantly. Press the Tab Key activation shortcut to open the popup, then press your configured action key to group or ungroup the current tab, close the current group, or move the current tab into the nearest group on the left or right. Popup action keys can be changed from the extension options page. Tab Key has no analytics, ads, tracking, or external service dependency. Key features: Toggle the current tab’s pinned state. Move the current tab one position left or right. Open a keyboard-only popup with a single activation shortcut. Group or ungroup the current tab with one toggle action. Close the current tab’s group. Move the current tab into the nearest tab group on the left or right. Customize popup action keys from the options page. Uses Manifest V3 with a small local service worker. Default shortcuts: Open popup: Alt+T, or MacCtrl+T on macOS. Toggle pin: Ctrl+Shift+P, or MacCtrl+Shift+P on macOS. Move tab left: Ctrl+Shift+H, or MacCtrl+Shift+H on macOS. Move tab right: Ctrl+Shift+L, or MacCtrl+Shift+L on macOS. Default popup action keys: g: group or ungroup the current tab. x: close the current group. h: move the current tab into the nearest group on the left. l: move the current tab into the nearest group on the right.
