Overview

Copy a tab group as a link. Anyone with this extension can restore it.

Reproducing a bug over text is painful: "open these eight tabs, in this order — two docs, the staging link, the console filter." Tab Group Share turns that whole set into one link. Select a tab group, copy the link, and paste it into a GitHub issue, Slack, or a ticket. Anyone who has this same extension opens it and gets your exact tabs back — same group name, same color, as a real native Chrome tab group — by default behind a one-tap confirmation, or instantly with auto-restore turned on. Good for: • Bug reproduction — hand a maintainer the precise tab set that triggers it. • Handoff — pass a batch of research or a review queue to a teammate. • Moving a working set of tabs between your own machines. How the link works: • Default: the whole group is packed into the link's fragment (#tg1:...). A URL fragment is never sent in an HTTP request, so your tab URLs never reach our server — no account, no storage, no expiry. The data is the link. • Optional short links (off by default): the group is encrypted in your browser with a fresh AES-256-GCM key, and only the ciphertext is stored on the project's Cloudflare Worker. The key stays in the link, so the server holds data it cannot read. Before you copy, the popup lists every URL with a per-tab checkbox, so you share exactly what you mean to. The link is opaque but not secret: anyone who has it can decode the URLs, so treat a public paste as public. No extension on the other end? The link opens at tab.azerobest.com with an install prompt and the shared links listed, so the recipient can open them one at a time. Collects nothing — no accounts, analytics, telemetry, or cookies. Open source at github.com/Azero-NG/tab-group-share. Shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+G (Cmd+Shift+G on Mac). Requires Chrome 102 or later.
