Overview
Record tab audio, optionally mix in the microphone, and save as WebM, WAV, or MP3.
Record whatever the current Chrome tab is playing — YouTube, a meeting, a podcast — and save it as a file on your computer. Tab Audio Recorder captures the tab’s speaker output. Sound in the tab keeps playing while you record. Recording continues after you close the popup. Features • Record audio from the current tab • Optional microphone mix-in so you can include your voice • Pause and resume • Save as WebM (Opus), WAV, or MP3 • Choose where files go: Chrome’s save dialog, a Downloads subfolder, or a folder you pick once • Custom filename pattern using {title}, {date}, {time}, and {datetime} How to use 1. Open the tab you want to record 2. Click the extension icon 3. Optionally enable Include microphone and pick a save format 4. Press Start recording 5. Press Stop & save Notes • chrome:// pages and the Chrome Web Store cannot be captured • The first time you enable the microphone, Chrome may open a permission tab — allow it once, then start again • WAV and MP3 use more memory on long recordings than WebM • Nothing is uploaded. Encoding and saving happen on your computer Requires Chrome 116 or later.
