Overview

Closes tabs you aren't using, keeps a safe, searchable copy, and sorts them by topic. Nothing leaves your computer.

Too many tabs, but closing them feels like losing something? Tab Attic closes the tabs you've stopped using and keeps every one of them safe, sorted and easy to find. How it works • A tab you haven't looked at for a while (8 hours of active time by default) is saved first, then closed. Only time you spend at the computer counts: nights, weekends and a closed browser don't. • Every saved tab is kept twice: in Tab Attic and in your Chrome bookmarks (Other bookmarks › Tab Attic). If the extension is ever removed and installed again, the archive is rebuilt from the bookmarks. • Saved tabs are sorted by topic. With Chrome's built-in model (Gemini Nano) they're grouped by meaning, right on your computer. Without it, tabs are grouped by shared words. • Search finds any closed tab by title, site, address or topic, in any language. • Reopen one tab, or a whole topic as a Chrome tab group. You stay in control • Start in preview mode: see which tabs would be archived before anything closes. • Pinned tabs, tabs playing sound, the tab you're on and full-screen windows are never closed. • Keep any tab or site open with one switch. Keep tabs in tab groups, or tabs with text you haven't sent. • Always keep a minimum number of tabs in each window. • Group the tabs you have open right now by topic, with one click. • Undo deletes. Export to JSON or a bookmarks file; import back. Private by design Tab Attic has no server, no account, no analytics. Everything stays in your browser.
