System2
Overview
Feeds show what you're least likely to dislike, not what you most want. System2 tells you if each video or post is worth your time.
Your external rational brain Recommendation feeds don't show you what you most want to see. They show you what you are least likely to dislike. So we keep scrolling without noticing, and when we finally stop, the time often feels wasted. System2 is named after what psychologist Daniel Kahneman called System 2: the slow, deliberate mind that asks “is this really what I want?” While you are clear-headed, you write down the topics you want and don't want to see. Then, as you browse videos and posts, System2 checks each one you open against those topics and tells you whether it is something you actually want to see. ■ How it works 1. Name your topics, such as “game design” or “celebrity gossip”, and give each a tier: Most want to see, Want to see, Indifferent, Prefer not to see or Least want to see. Or use Strict (allowlist) or Relaxed (blocklist) mode, or add a suggested bundle in one click. 2. Turn on Auto-analyze and browse as usual. 3. A small marker on the page and the toolbar icon show the label; “Least want to see” also sends a notification. If a label is wrong, fix it in one click. Your corrections stay on your computer. ■ What it can analyze System2 reads the main text of articles and supported post detail pages, then shows reminders based on your chosen topics. On Bilibili and YouTube, it analyzes videos using readable subtitles; videos without available subtitles are not analyzed. Post analysis excludes comment sections. Home pages, feeds and search results are not scanned item by item. ■ Reminds, never blocks System2 never blocks, closes or redirects a page. Whether to keep going is your call. Labels use both color and words, and when the call is unclear the page is marked Uncertain instead of being forced into a label. ■ Cost Bring your own TypeSafe API key (from typesafe.ai). Your TypeSafe account pays for requests directly, with no markup from System2. New installs include a free trial of up to 100 analyses, paused when the platform budget runs out. ■ Privacy • Auto-analysis is off by default; site access is requested only when you turn it on, and it never runs in incognito windows • Search, sign-in and payment pages and known sensitive sites are skipped, and you can exclude any site • When analysis is enabled, the current page's trimmed text, title, domain and your topic definitions are sent to the System2 service and the model provider • The extension does not read Chrome's history list or send full page URLs, cookies or form contents to the System2 service • The System2 service does not store page text, full URLs, your topics or your API key Full privacy policy: https://system2-app.vercel.app/en/privacy Website and help: https://system2-app.vercel.app/en Feedback: previbe.ai@gmail.com System2's judgments use the Jev model from TypeSafe.ai. System2 is an independent project with no partnership or affiliation with TypeSafe.
